Mission Statement
Cultur is a community organisation that works with migrants, asylum seekers and refugees promoting equal rights and opportunities to develop an intercultural Co.
Who are we:
Cultúr is a local community development project working with
immigrants living in Co. What do we do:
We provide a range of supports directly to immigrants in general
including
An open one to one drop in centre which takes place on
Monday afternoons 2-5
Wednesdays 10-1 and 2-5
Fridays 10-1
General information is provided information relating to rights and entitlements with
translation available in three languages including Lithuanian, Polish and Russian in
the drop in centre. We also make referrals to other agencies where needed for those
who access our drop in. Conversational English Classes
Cultúr provide low cost conversational English classes in Navan, Trim and Kells to
immigrants who want to learn to speak English. These classes are delivered by our
volunteer tutors.
3.Other work that we do e.g.:
• Development of a wide range of supports to meet the needs of immigrants and
the agencies that work with immigrants in the county
• Setting up a Forum (meeting space) for Immigrants to come together to talk
about the issues affecting them
• Setting up an interagency network for Co. Meath on Integration issues
• Co-ordinating a initiatives e.g. pilot programme in accredited English for
Immigrants, co-ordinating a participative photography project on the topic of
migration for immigrants
In general the work of Cultúr falls under the following four categories
