It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Mary’s beloved twin brother Jody, who passed away peacefully this morning.
On behalf of everyone at Kilkenny Helping the Homeless, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Mary and all of her family at this very difficult time.
Please keep Mary and her family in your thoughts and prayers over the coming days. ❤️
Out of respect, the group will be closed for now and will reopen again in time. Thank you all for your understanding and support.

Another busy night done on Grafton St ❤️
Brendan and Mary had another commitment so they couldn’t make it to Dublin, but thank God for an amazing team who stepped up, took the van and made sure everything went ahead smoothly. Our wonderful students from the Royal College of Surgeons were there too helping out as always.
The crowds were huge again and we are now bringing enough food for between 250 and 300 people every outreach. Thankfully we just about had enough to feed everyone on Saturday.
There is such huge gratitude from people for a hot meal, drinks and treats. Nights like this really remind you how important this outreach is becoming.
The good weather definitely helped and made the evening a little easier for everyone standing in the queues.
Massive thank you to every volunteer, donor and supporter who helps make these nights happen week after week ❤️

Hi 👋 Just a little update in relation to the carboot sale we are hosting this year. The exact location will be announced soon, it just needs to be finalised and it will hopefully be on Sunday July 26th from 9-3. A few people have already put their name down for whenever we host our carboot sale so I think places are going to fill up fast. Give me a shout if you want to book yourself a space to sell.

The general info at the moment is, it is €3 entry fee for buyers or €5 per family. It will be €25 for your space (paid before event) which goes directly to our charity, you then sell your own goods and keep your own money.
You will need to bring your own table. There will be toilet facilities, and it should be wheelchair friendly (to be confirmed) We will have our own tables there also selling off some of our donated items. Great bargains to be had.
We will also hold raffles throughout the day with some great prizes.
So why not gather up some items you no longer need and make yourself a few bob. Bring the kids/grandkids along to earn their pocket money, while teaching them that one person's trash is another person's treasure 😉

Another outreach done last night — and thankfully, the weather stayed dry for us.
The need right now is huge. People were genuinely starving, and despite bringing a large amount of food, every bit of it was gone.
What we are seeing more and more is the changing face of homelessness — many different nationalities, young people, and even children now on the streets. It’s very hard to see.
As always, everything ran smoothly. We never have any issues, and the lines were well managed by Christine O’Toole — thank you, Christine.
A massive thank you as well to our incredible volunteers who continue to show up, week after week. We simply couldn’t do this without you.

Do any of you know of a big carpark in town that would allow us to host a carboot sale on a Saturday or Sunday?
I know some of you had suggested Cillin Hill before but we would like to host our own one.
So basically you can also bring your own car or van and sell your own stuff for your own pocket and the €20 cover charge per vehicle would go to our charity. We would hold lots of raffles on the day. Please tag any local TD's who may be able to help us secure a carpark.
