Seven members from Athenry men’s shed took a day outing to Dublin recently and visited Croke Park where they did the skyline tour and visited the GAA museum.
On a beautiful day for the skyline tour where the views were spectacular the guide pointed out the various landmark buildings right around the city and information around the history and stories associated with them. The tour took one and a half hours and the members agreed that it was most enjoyable. After lunch the members visited the museum where again were very impressed with the amount of history, memorabilia i.e. cups, medals on display. It was the consensus of all that it was a very enjoyable and memorable day.

A group of men's shedder's participated in a Sli walk in Coole Park on Wednesday 17th June. The Sli walk is an annual walk at the invitation of the Irish Men's Association for sheds around the country to participate in as part of Men's health week. Up to 40 shredder's took part from Oranmore, Clarinbridge, Athenry and Monivea sheds. Our sheds are extremely grateful to GRD for sponsoring the tea and refreshments after the Sli walk which amounted to €245.

What a great ending to 8 cooking classes given by Ricardo da Silva Melo, when our last class involved Ricardo showing us how and cooking a Bar-b Q for us. The weather was ideal and the food was delicious...thank you Ricardo.
