St. Patrick's Scout Group 1st/2nd/5th Louth We are the biggest Scout Group in Dundalk and have all five sections of Scouting Ireland. ⚜️🥾 St.

Patrick's Scout Group 1st/2nd/5th Louth as a member of Scouting Ireland. Scouting Ireland is a voluntary, non-formal educational movement for young people. It is independent, non-political, open to all without distinction of origin, race, creed or gender, in accordance with the purpose, principles and method conceived by Robert Baden-Powell and as stated by WOSM. The aim of Scouting Ireland is to

"encourage the physical, intellectual, social, spiritual and cultural development of its members so that they may achieve their full potential and, as responsible citizens, contribute and improve society." Of the 750,000 people between the ages of 6 and 18 in Ireland, approximately 2.5% participate in Scouting Ireland.

Last night, 1st Louth scouts welcomed Stephen and Pang from Dundalk Tidy Towns to hand over 3 flower boxes that the scouts had made as part of the chief scouts EPIC challenge. The weather gods were good to 1st Louth scouts this weekend as they hammocked in Collon scout campsite with scouts from St Olivers scout group. This was part of the "Better Together" scheme, which Louth scout county initiated at the start of the scout year. The scouts mixed together in the forest, had a hike and did an orienteering course at mellifont Abbey before returning to camp to cook on open fires. 1st Louth scouts would like to thank St Olivers scouts and leaders for the enjoyable weekend and the County Commissioner for presenting the "Better Together" badges. What a great weekend we had at the Louth Scout County Camp in Crawfordsburn. 2nd and 5th Louth Cubs, were accompanied by the DVS to the camp where we were joined by Buoin Setanta, 8th Louth SlIeve Foy, 7th Louth Coastal and Blackrock. It was a great weekend where everyone had fun, adventure, learned new skills and made plenty of friends. Many thanks to the county team for organising the camp, and also to our leaders who did everything for the youth members.

1st Louth scouts took to the garden on Sunday to make flower boxes and bat houses out of recycled wooden pallets. This is part of the Environmental challenge for the EPIC award.
