Father’s Day 2026

On Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st June we are running 4 steam train specials between Dublin Connolly and Maynooth with our steam engine No. 171. This also coincides with Father’s Day on the Sunday.

Celebrate your special Dad in your life and bring him back in time for a memorable family day out on board Ireland's only mainline steam train. Maybe treat him for a drink from our on board bar or a cuppa with a snack while we travel to and from Maynooth Co Kildare.

We had a visit yesterday, 15th April, from members of Kilkenny Railway Heritage Society. Between showers, they viewed Dundalk Station, the Railway Museum, the Central Cabin and a quick visit to Ardee Road site of "The Works" GNR(I) Railway Works.

RPSI Eggstravaganza with Easter Bunny!

Latest news. For people planning to go to Clark Station on Easter Monday 6th April just to see steam loco 171 Slieve Gullion, the RPSI trip from Dublin/Drogheda will now be headed by a diesel engine. No 171 is undergoing repairs and can't steam on Monday. I know some people will be disappointed but the RPSI carriage set will still be there pulled by a diesel.
Hopefully we may see no 171 later in the year all going well.

Slieve Gullion at Rosslare. Come and see no 171 at Clarke Station, Dundalk on Easter Monday 6th April. A turnaround visit from 12.35pm to 1.40pm.
