Tidy Towns Drogheda

Tidy Towns Drogheda TidyTowns is a great way for civic spirited people in Drogheda to come together, to harness their ideas and energy and to help make a real difference!

Drogheda Tidy Towns committee was set up in 2007 with volunteers in cooperation with Drogheda Borough Council and then Louth County Council and weโ€™ve been going strong ever since. We are on our 15th gold medal in the 2022 Supervalu Tidy Towns competition, and we are aiming to maintain gold in 2023. Our Mission:

Drogheda Tidy Towns endeavors to promote the core principles of a clean and tidy town

in which people can live, work and play. The Committee seeks to engage with all stakeholders from Louth County Council, residential area representatives, to the education, business, and volunteer sectors to ensure a coordinated and effective strategic approach to areas such as the environment, area enhancement, litter management, biodiversity, sustainability, and projects to improve the public realm of the town including public parks and spaces. Our Volunteers and Committee:

Being a volunteer with Drogheda Tidy Towns allows individuals to practice their passion for the good of their community, whether that passion concerns the built environment, landscaping, sustainable living, and local wildlife or organizing a litter pick; there is a place for it in Drogheda Tidy Towns. We encourage volunteers to come and work together to make our wonderful town of Drogheda be the very best it can be. We can only do this with your help. The Committee:

A productive evening in Drogheda with volunteers out helping to clean up a number areas across the town .

A group from the Brand New Drive Motor Show team were clearing weeds and tidying the area around Dominic Street Car Park and Father Connolly Way ahead of this weekend's event. The Motor Show takes place on Saturday from 10amโ€“4pm and will feature 80+ vehicles from 20 motor brands, alongside family entertainment and community activities.

Thanks also to all who took part in the Tidy Towns litter pick covering South Quay, St Mary's, Bullring and surrounding areas.

All these efforts really add up and help keep Drogheda clean, welcoming and looking its best for residents and visitors alike. Thank you ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿšฎ๐Ÿš—

๐ŸŒฟ A Fantastic Community Effort on Dublin Road!

Last Saturday evening , residents from the Dublin Road and St. Mary's Villas, came together to tackle the overgrown vegetation along the wall opposite the entrance to Drogheda Railway Station.

The transformation was remarkable. See the before and after pics. What started as a heavily overgrown stretch was cleared back to reveal the stone wall beneath and greatly improve the appearance of this area.

An incredible 50+ bags of ivy, weeds and cuttings were collected, all of which were removed on Sunday morning thanks to the council.

A huge well done to everyone who gave their time and helped out. ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŒฑ

Great to see Drogheda moving up in the latest IBAL Anti-Litter League results and now rated Clean to European Norms. ๐Ÿ‘

Thanks to everyone who has made this happen, including the Council, TUS, community groups, residents, businesses and the many volunteers who support local clean-ups throughout the year.

There are still a few recurring problem areas that need attention, but this result shows what can be achieved when people work together. Full report and results attached

This looks wonderful and is a fantastic addition to Meat Market Lane

A once overlooked laneway in the heart of Drogheda has been transformed by a stunning new 40-metre mural celebrating the wildlife and natural beauty of the Boyne Valley.

Created by acclaimed artist Friz, the artwork features native species including a heron, kingfisher, fox, rabbit and wren, bringing colour and vibrancy to Meatmarket Lane.
