The Holy Angels Daycare Center is an officially registered charity CHY No. 17462 which acts as a pre-school facility for Children aged from 18 months to 6 years diagnosed with learning difficulties and/or have physical disabilities. Columba Flavin, a member of the Presentation Order saw that there was need for a day care service for children with special needs and went about setting it up. With a
cheque for £100 from the South Eastern Health Board and the names of five children in the locality with special needs the Holy Angels began and now in 2011 Facilities include a Hydrotherapy Unit, a Soft Play area, a Multi-Sensory room, an Outdoor Play area, a Family Room and classrooms equipped to a very high standard. Services also include Paediatrician, Physiotherapy , Occupational Therapy , Speech and Language , and Respite care is also available through the centre. However we all know that facilities on their own do not make a successful centre. It is the dedication and commitment of staff that makes it successful, they are a bringing magic to these children in many ways bringing out the full potential of each and every Child they see past the disability and see the ability. With help from the H.S.E & Local fundraising from parents & friends of the Holy Angels Day Care plays a big part in helping purchase much needed equipment for the Holy Angels lately we have had Fundraising Raffles , Tractor Runs and now we have a stall in a Car Boot Sale in Carlow, I feel it is smaller charities like the Holy Angels that are sometimes forgotten about and I feel it’s every cent that makes a big difference in helping the Holy Angels .
