Duty Info: [email protected]
Recruitment: [email protected]

As a voluntary group, the Order of Malta has been active in the Carlow area since 1938. Working closely with the local community, the Carlow Unit has contributed thousands of hours in carrying out the mission of the Order of Malta Ambulance Corps by making a difference in society through providing:

•Community Care
•First Aid & Nursing Service
•Youth Development
•Personal Development

in a Christi

an, caring and non-discriminatory environment. Today the Unit provides First Aid, Ambulance and Training Services to groups and organisations in the area. Both our vehicles are well equipped (including AEDs) and our members are trained in line with Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council standards, meaning we can offer various levels of cover for any event you may have. Events which the Unit has covered in recent history include:
• Dr Cullen Park - GAA matches
• Gowran Park Racecourse - In conjunction with our colleagues in the Kilkenny Unit
• Charity Fun Runs/Swims
• The Tullow Show
• Carlow Autograss - Stock car racing
• The National Ploughing Championships

We provide a variety of certified and non-certified courses such as basic life support (BLS) and basic first aid, through to PHECC Cardiac First Responder - Community level and Occupational First Aid (OFA). Many of our courses can be tailored to suit particular needs, such as paediatric emergencies or dealing with elderly patients. Email [email protected] for more information. All the work we do for the community is founded upon the time and generosity of our volunteers, who give countless hours every year through duties and weekly training to support the unit and make a difference to society. We are always looking for new members and for your time, we will give you the training and competency to provide life-saving skills, as well as developing your leadership and confidence to allow you to remain calm in an emergency. If this interests you, and you are 16 and above email [email protected] with the word 'Recruit' in the subject line.

We would like to say a huge thank you to for their recent donation to our unit.

Our services heavily rely on the support of our local community and donations like this are always very appreciated.

The money we receive from donations are always put straight back into our local community through our voluntary ambulance service. The money helps us to continue providing our essential services across the county.

Thank you Carlow Credit Union for your generosity.
