Every year, around World Cancer Research Day (September 24th), communities across Ireland come together for Breakthrough Cancer Research's National Fundraising Collections, raising vital funds that make life-saving cancer research possible.

A Volunteer is needed to co-ordinate the collections in Carlow. The volunteer will be fully supported by Breakthrough Cancer Research's Fundraising Team.

The Fabric of Change Pop up is a week-long shop where clothing and fashion items will be for sale from local charity shops and crafters. The shop is a joint initiative with Carlow County Council and will be open from the 5th to the 10th of October in Carlow Town. Opening hours are 12 to 6 pm each day.

Volunteers will be needed to help keep the shop open and welcoming: minding the rails and helping customers, supporting the cashier, running the swap corner, or lending a hand at the creative table.

The Harvest Festival in An Gairdín Beo takes place on Saturday, October 3rd. Volunteers are needed to help out on Friday 2nd October at 5pm for an hour or two in An Gairdin Beo for set up and apple cutting/ pressing.

Community Games need friendly and welcoming volunteers who can help out for the National Arts & Cultural Finals on Saturday, September 5th and Sunday, September 6th. There will be a 8 AM start and a 7 PM finish, or if volunteers can help for a couple of hours, all help would be greatly appreciated.

The National Finals will take place in Visual and Carlow College St. Patrick's.
