Hey Folks, the lovely Siobhan Donnellan of our Bo Leictreach fold 2011 and 2012 has an exciting project happening that we might like to support!
'In the Garden'

Directed by Aoife Connolly
Produced by Marian Egan
Written by Siobhán Donnellan
Edited by Tracy Moloney
Cast: Ben Mulhern, Siobhán Donnellan

Why not tune in for some new drama this bank holiday weekend on Clare FM (96.4FM). 'In the Garden' will be broadcast on Clare FM on Sunday evening of the May Bank Holiday weekend at 6.05pm. 'In the Garden' is a black comedy involving two lost souls who meet unexpectedly having been caught between this world and the next. Ben Mulhern plays Jimmy, a taxidermist living in isolation in rural Ireland. His skills gave animals, even the wily pine marten , a kind of immortality, though as he wryly admits 'The work wasn't great for attracting women and I'm thinkin the smell didn't help much!' Siobhan Donnellan plays Una, a woman who survived a violent marriage and died alone, yet who never gave up hope of 'finding the right fit'.
In spite of the dark themes, humour is never far away; the plays use of flashbacks take us to places such as the the frozen food section in the supermarket where Una reaches for her final Weight watchers dinner to Jimmy's isolated house where the radio fills the silence of his inarticulate relationship with his father 'old Red' and his bloodstained apron.

'In the Garden' was funded under the BAI Sound and Vision scheme and will also be available on podcast.
