Yesterday began with the official photoshoot, followed by the written examination.📖🍷

The afternoon continued with a service task, challenging competitors to showcase their practical skills, precision, and professionalism under pressure.

Later in the day, the results were announced and the best-performing sommeliers were selected. Due to a tie in the scores, the originally planned Top 8 was expanded to a Top 9, with nine outstanding sommeliers advancing to the next stage of the championship. ✨

Sommelier versenyzőink bemutatását folytatjuk:

Bárányos Bence a Magyar Sommelier Club egyik legújabb tagja. Szakmai tapasztalatait több neves budapesti étteremben szerezte, jelenleg pedig a Four Seasons Hotel sommelier csapatát erősíti.

Koltai Kristóf WSET Level 3 képesítéssel és CEWI Sommelier diplomával rendelkezik, és idén első alkalommal méretteti meg magát a Magyar Sommelier Bajnokságon. Jelenleg a Lions Locker sommelier-je.

Vörös Tamás rutinos, visszatérő versenyzője a bajnokságnak, aki hosszú évek óta dolgozik a vendéglátásban. Jelenleg a VIRTU Étterem csapatának tagja, ahol szakmai tudásával és tapasztalatával járul hozzá a vendégélményhez.

Merk Bálint tehetséges fiatal sommelier, aki jelenleg a WSET Diploma képzést végzi az osztrák Weinakademie intézményében. A nemrég megnyílt St. Regis Budapest étteremének Head Sommelier-je, ahol nap mint nap a magas színvonalú vendégélményért és borkínálatért felel.

Sok sikert kívánunk versenyzőinknek a III. Nyílt Magyar Sommelier Bajnokságon! 🏆

Bence Bárányos is one of the newest members of the Hungarian Sommelier Club. He gained valuable professional experience in several renowned restaurants in Budapest and is currently a member of the sommelier team at the Four Seasons Hotel.

Kristóf Koltai holds a WSET Level 3 certification and a CEWI Sommelier Diploma, and this year he will compete in the Hungarian Sommelier Championship for the very first time. He currently serves as sommelier at Lions Locker.

Tamás Vörös is an experienced competitor and a returning participant of the championship, with many years of experience in the hospitality industry. He is currently part of the team at VIRTU Restaurant, where he contributes to the guest experience through his expertise and professional knowledge.

Bálint Merk is a talented young sommelier currently pursuing the prestigious WSET Diploma at the Austrian Weinakademie. He serves as Head Sommelier at the recently opened St. Regis Budapest, where he is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience and overseeing the wine program.

We wish all our contestants the best of luck at the III. Open Hungarian Sommelier Championship! 🏆🍷

Last night, we kicked off the championship with a toast at Ensana Thermal Margaret Island.
The Welcome Party brought together contestants, judges, and wine professionals ahead of the exciting days to come. 🍷✨

Mate Negulic visszatér Budapestre. A Istria & Kvarner Sommelier bajnokság korábbi győztese, a nemzeti bajnokság második helyezettje. ASI Aranydiploma, WSET 3 vizsgával rendelezik.

Stefan Klettner tapasztalt versenyző, osztrák bajnokként érkezik
Budapestre. CMS Advanced és WSET Diploma tulajdonosa. Korábban dobogós volt a Best Young Sommelier európai megmérettetésen Varsóban.

Mertesz Andor visszatérő versenyző a Sommelier Magyar Bajnokságon. WSET 3 vizsgával rendelkező fiatal, tehetséges szakember.

Mate Negulic returns to Budapest. A former winner of the Istria & Kvarner Sommelier Championship and runner-up in the national championship, he holds both the ASI Gold Diploma and WSET Level 3 certification.

Stefan Klettner arrives in Budapest as an experienced competitor and Austrian champion. He holds the CMS Advanced certification and the WSET Diploma, and previously earned a podium finish at the Best Young Sommelier of Europe competition in Warsaw.

Andor Mertesz returns to the Hungarian Sommelier Championship. A young and talented professional, he holds the WSET Level 3 certification.
