Preventative health protects livelihoods, strengthens families and reduces avoidable crises.

Migrant Domestic Workers (MDW) spend so much time caring for others — but their health deserves care too.

In our latest collaboration to provide health checks for MDWs, we were able to support 79 women to access HPV education and self-sampling.

We couldn’t be more grateful for the care and kindness demonstrated by the whole team at the
樂妍站 Women Wellness Satellite in Chai Wan today, who specially opened on a Public Holiday to warmly welcome our community.

Also to the Karen Leung Foundation - 梁愷昍婦癌基金會 for so generously funding this opportunity for MDWs to take simple, proactive steps to protect their health. Finally, for the wonderful support and assistance from Filipino Migrants Cancer Support Society Hong Kong, the Filipino Nurses Association Hong Kong, Peduli Sehat - Hong Kong, PathFinders for Migrant Workers and HELP for Domestic Workers.

By improving access to health education, screening and services, MDWs can stay healthy, continue supporting their own families, and care for the families who rely on them in Hong Kong. When their health thrives, everyone benefits.

We’re pleased to announce the addition of two new evidence-based publications to the Karen Leung Foundation Knowledge Hub:

HPV detection in clinician-collected and self-collected vaginal, urine and menstrual blood samples

Detection of high-risk HPV in self-collected urine samples

These publications contribute to a deeper understanding of accessible HPV screening options and support continued efforts to raise awareness, promote early detection and advance cervical cancer prevention.

The Karen Leung Foundation is offering a **FREE urine-based cervical screening programme**. The screening is simple, private, non-invasive, and designed to make cervical health screening more comfortable and convenient.

Available dates:
Sundays: 5, 12 & 19 July 2026
11:30am – 2:30pm

This programme is open to women aged 26–65 who have ever had s*x and meet the eligibility criteria.

Participation is voluntary, confidential, and first-come, first-served.

Cervical cancer is highly preventable, and regular screening is an important step in early prevention.

Karen Leung Foundation is supporting a free urine-based cervical cancer screening opportunity in partnership with HKU, offering eligible women a simple, private and convenient way to learn more about their cervical health.

The process takes around 10–15 minutes. Participation is voluntary and confidential. Places are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The cervical screening is available during the Sunday sessions on 5, 12 and 19 July.
