Καλό μήνα από τα κορίτσια του welcome office σε όλους.
We wish everyone a good start into the new month. spring is coming. War is closer than ever. We can see more people in need especially for housing are coming these days, but also many refugees searching for jobs and for some kind of orientation of what to do next. Perspectives are limited on the island.
We try our best to share information and resources. Our housing program is currently hosting 49 beneficiaries from them 25 are children.
We are daily open from 09:30 to 15:30. Even though we cannot host all the vulnerable families or even homeless refugees that there are, we can try to be a welcoming environment trying to find solutions and giving perspectives.

We are the Welcome Office. We are still here meanwhile other projects have closed down or reduced services. We provide information, orientation and manage paperwork that follows the asylum procedure, such as registering at tax office, applications for social allowances, opening bank accounts etc. We currently host Helios+ Project every Friday at our office. We still have a regular flow of visitors, are open for referrals for our housing program with current capacity of 9 apartments for families and single mothers / hosting around 50 refugees at the moment. For them we provide hygiene items, super market vouchers, medicines and integrative services. Families come, families leave. We say goodbye to residents every month and welcome new ones. With some we get close with others we are just a transit point for their journey to another destiny. Some stay one month in our shelters others one year. Some find a job others don't. Some feel welcomed, some feel neglected by the local community. Some already are on the move for a decade, others recently managed to flee war, armed conflicts, GBV, human trafficking and poverty. The stories of our visitors are as diverse as this universe can be. We welcome people from Syria, Afghanistan, Sudan, Eritrea, Iraq, Ethiopia, Iran, Somalia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Camerun, Palestine, Turkey, Turkmenistan, D.R. Congo, Egypt and and and. We learn from them, they learn from us which next steps are to take in Greece. People on the move seeking a safe place to find a peaceful living, not always succeed but we will try our best to make your wishes come true. Everybody welcome. Happy refugee day

The deadline for filing 2025 tax declarations is from March 15, 2025 to July 16, 2025 . If you arrived in the year 2024 and you want to fill in your first tax declaration please contact us after 15 of march and we will do it for you.

Happy new year from us♥️🎆
Number of 2024 arrivals in Greece. Le**os: 11.162 people in 2024.
Currently living in closed controlled access centers on the Aegean Islands: 11.565 refugees (updates 22.12.2024). Currently residing in CCAC Mavrovouni on Le**os around 3000 people.
1199 Children. People we were able to support through our housing program in 2024: 225 from them 111 children.

Our Housing Project is a very important part to support vulnerable refugees on the island. Especially during winter the condition inside the camp, where currently more than 3000 people are living, are very harsh and unbearable. We are currently renting 15 appartments and supporting more than 60 people to have a warm safe space in the city center. Among them many single mothers and small children. The support to provide a life outside of the camp structure and IN the city center of Mytilini would not be possible without the cooperation with Flüchtlingshilfe Doro Blancke that provide our residents in the houses with a weekly food bag. Thank you for all the vital support - together we can create dignified and safe spaces with for many refugees on the island.
