Who said learning German is hard? 🇩🇪
With a view and a slice of cake, even German words are easier to digest. ☕️🍰
Many of the women in our project hope to build a future in Germany. Today, we had a lot of fun combining work and pleasure: studying German while enjoying each other’s company in a beautiful café.
A welcome change of scenery—and a delicious way to learn!

Friday was a special day. Many of the women and girls who have been with us over the past few months are leaving the camp, so we spent one last day together at the beach.

Saying goodbye never gets easier. We wish them all the very best as they begin this new chapter and hope they leave Lesvos carrying some happy memories with them!

A powerful new study published in *BMJ Global Health* sheds light on the reality faced by women living in the Mavrovouni (Kara Tepe) camp on Lesvos.

Based on research conducted with 247 refugee women by Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam alongside refugee co-researchers, the findings highlight urgent gaps in safety, basic rights, and healthcare access:

💔 **54%** reported experiencing border pushbacks.

💔 **23%** were denied medical care due to their legal status.

💔 Up to **91%** had never received information about their sexual & reproductive rights.

💔 **47%** of mothers received no postpartum follow-up care after giving birth.

Healthcare and human dignity are basic rights, not privileges. It’s time for policies that protect and empower all women, no matter where they are.
