Thank you to everyone who booked in for the event today and to all the children that just created extra fun for themselves and enjoyed scooting or skateboarding around having the whole playground. We were unfortunately unable to have the circuit we had arranged but we didn't want to let you down and we know the next couple of months would cause the same unpredictable weather issues, so we just made do with what we did have and went ahead. Please be understanding if the event didn't quite deliver for your child, we really did do our best.
I also want to raise the fact that I had ONE parent helper today, one. Thankfully 2 members of staff also stayed behind to assist. I could not have been tuck shop, safety, toilet monitor, setup & packup all by myself. We need more people to step up and help this charity - which is here for the benefit of ALL our children - whenever they can. If you knew the amount of things that the school budget does not cover and what needs to be achieved, you would be shocked.
If you see an event advertised, you can guarantee that adult help is needed and you can get in touch and offer your time. We have 2 class reps per class, they are not solely responsible for being our volunteers - let them know what you could support on. Our 2 biggest events of the year are Christmas and Summer, we need LOTS of hands on deck for those and one is happening next weekend.
