𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝗯𝘆 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸!!

Special Baby Group is back at Tullie in Carlisle this Thursday, from 10.30am 👶

If your baby has spent time in Special Care why not join the other babies and parents for a few hours and have some fun?

The babies have a great time playing with the toys and the parents get to chat with each other, support each other and are able to relax knowing they are amongst other parents that understand what they have been through, and the challenges they still face.

Our Peer Supporter Katie will also be there to support you, as will staff from the unit and a rep from the MNVP.

We can't wait to see you there on Thursday! 💚

It was ace to visit Tracey on Ward 1a this week to deliver more sensory stuff!!

After having lots more small babies admitted to the ward they were struggling to find appropriate sensory toys to soothe them and help them sleep - so we bought a batch of light up mobiles and dropped them off to help out. 🌈

We love support the wards and helping to provide additional care that means so much to the families. We hope these bring lots of comfort to the babies 👶🏻

We were delighted to visit Ward 2a today to deliver more Memory Books!

When a family have a new baby it is incredibly exciting and special to mark all the ‘first’ moments, taking lots of photographs and logging them in a baby record book or family album. This means that the memories are kept safe and the family have the book to look back on over the years to remember those special moments… When a new baby is poorly and stay in hospital for a long time this is something which can be missed. The parents are, rightly so, so focused on their child’s treatment and getting them better that the memories are often not recorded. However… thanks to our memory books and the loving, caring approach of the wonderful team on the ward this is not a problem any more!

When families are in hospital long term the staff make sure that they get pictures of all the important moments, print them off and they are added to the memory book for the family! Therefore the family have that all important resource, which they can look back on with their child when they are older and better!

📚 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 - 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗧 𝟮! 🤩

Thanks to the fundraising of lots of amazing children in this year's Reading Challenge, we have purchased some amazing books to add to all of our portable libraries across the region.

We have purchased lots of books on grief, sadness, coping with medical challenges and being in hospital and we have begun delivering them to be added to all of our 20 portable libraries.

We started in the North East delivering to loads of our libraries and continued last week with visits to the Children's Ward and Neonatal Unit in Lancaster and the Children's Ward and Special Care Baby Unit in Barrow at the Furness General Hospital!

The staff were are thrilled with the books which was amazing to see and their enthusiasm for using the books with the children they care for makes all the efforts of everyone involved worthwhile.

Deliveries continue 🔜 in West and North Cumbria!

Thank you so much to the children and communities of St. Patrick's Primary, St. Gregory's Primary, St. Mary's Primary, St. Herbert's Primary and Warcop Primary for their amazing support for Team Evie 💚 (and the amazing teachers who made it happen of course 😉)
