The Friends were delighted to take on the role of Easter Bunny and deliver a chocolate egg to each member of staff at Malvern Community Hospital. A small token of our appreciation for all their hard work for patients.

"It is with sadness that we have to report that Carol Pike died recently. Carol was a long-standing Trustee of the ‘Friends’, and played an important role in the decisions and fund-raising activities of the Trust for many years. Carol was a brilliant communicator, and always excelled at our annual display at the Boffy farmers market engaging with the public, promoting the Malvern Community Hospital and the work of the 'Friends’.

In the last few years Carol’s health deteriorated and she left the area moving to a nursing home closer to her niece. Many found Carol quite an inspiration - she was active in many other local charities, for example the Malvern Link Townswomen's Guild and the Malvern Talking Newspaper. She also sang in a local choir and helped organise the Link’s Charities Mini Market twice a year. Carol's life and achievement will be a hard act to follow."

This Christmas, look out for the symptoms of dementia, such as irritability, forgetfulness, struggling to follow a conversation, or being confused about time and place.

If you spot any of these symptoms in a loved one, encourage them to visit their GP for an assessment. http://nhs.uk/conditions/dementia/
