Fantastic to see the rig taking shape for How Do You See Me?

6.6 metres wide, 3.6 metres high and feeling very exciting!

We’ve loved working with digital artist Noel Jones and our Jigsaw dancers.

Come and immerse yourself in our amazing installation next Wednesday and Thursday at 6-9pm at Henry Sandon Hall, with live dance to lead you in.

🎥 Our Winter Film 🎥

We’ll be making costumes for our film this week - we’ve been practising ready for sessions at Horizon Community Hub classes on Wednesday and Green Community Hub on Thursday.

We’ll be making them at Warndon Community Hub just after half term.

And then filming begins for our nature-inspired film with filmmaker Holly Jones - we can’t wait!

We know not everyone wants to be filmed, so children can help behind the scenes or just have hands filmed - everyone can get involved however they’d like to!

studio shell launches 1 November (we’ve been incredibly lucky to run our Worcester Chance to Dance classes here on Wednesday mornings for a few weeks already so we feel very special!)

We’re loving it and can’t wait for this gorgeous space to be full of movement!

🌳 We’re making a film with our Worcester Community Trust dancers!🌳

We’re working with dance artist and filmmaker Holly Jones on a film inspired by nature and connection, filmed in the parks and surrounding areas of the Hubs.

So if you’ve been thinking of bringing your child to one of our classes, now is the perfect time!

Taking part are Warndon Dance Club, Horizon Mini Movers, Dance Club and Youth, and our new Dines Green Mini Movers and Dance Club

There’ll be a film premiere on
Wednesday 9 December at The Hive.

We're getting very excited about this!

Come and see the work of Jigsaw Dance in collaboration with digital artist and creative technologist Noel Jones at Henry Sandon Hall during Bridges of Light.

Our installation will project you into an immersive world of dance, reflection and light, so you can experience movement in a new and exciting way.

Physical copies will be available at the tourist information centre from Friday 16 October. You can also pick one up from our friendly volunteers or from the information point outside The Guildhall on both nights of the festival.

Filming for How Do You See Me?

Our interactive installation as part of Severn Arts' Bridges of Light on 28 and 29 October.

Created by Dancefest’s Jigsaw Dance in collaboration with digital artist and creative technologist Noel Jones, inspired by reflection, identity and how we see ourselves and others.

As you move through the installation, your presence influences the projections, inviting you to explore, interact and play.

Great commission call out from Severn Arts.

🎨 Artist commission call out! 🎨

In partnership with Play Worcester, and funded by the National Lottery Awards for All England, Severn Arts is commissioning an artist or arts organisation to work with communities outside of the city centre to co-create a new outdoor resource that encourages children and families to play outside.

👉 Commission fee: £10,000

These sessions are for our Making Waves performance company but also open to any dancers aged 50 + interested in joining or finding out more.

Using her experience of connecting storytelling to dance, Marcia will guide participants to find the meaning behind why and how they create their movements.

With the use of contemporary techniques and creative processes she will also analyse and challenge what makes it exciting, so an audience continues to watch.
