New garden residents hear at Worcester Arts Collective.
They don’t have much money so they’re asking if the rent can be cheap.
Cheep cheep cheep cheep cheep!
We always love to help the new generation. They are our future.
From tiny baby ducklings to recent graduates, we love to get involved.
These little chaps were found in the void by the windows to our basement.

We are so proude to have .tyler.art orcester arts colective and she will be showing her work as part of Worcester Open Studios later in the year in her words:-

I have been fortunate, throughout my career, to have worked in a wide range of media – drawing, painting, photography and sculpture. In 2021 I began experimenting with mixed media collage and this opened the door to an exhilarating way of working.

As a mixed media artist I create many layered collage and assemblage pieces. I am inspired by poetry, prose, conversations overheard and personal histories. Much of the work I create is influenced by my love of medieval, Renaissance & Indian art. The use of symbolism hidden within layers of imagery is an important element of each of the collages I make and I love to hear how different viewers respond with their own meaning.

Along with symbolism, the titles are intrinsic to each piece. The title is the begining of my process, once I am fixed on the title I source my materials, plan and create. This can take days, weeks or months and I often have a number of artworks at various stages of completion.

I use a variety of materials, in particular vintage & antiquarian photographs, prints, text & ephemera, to create rich and intricate pieces. Other materials I often use are gold leaf, copper foil, inks and found objects.

In recent months, on becoming a resident artist at Worcester Arts Collective, I have returned to the discipline that my creative journey, back in the 1980s, began with, that of oil painting. I’m not sure where this will lead but watch this space!

Today we are celebrating the work of another member of WAC
Hils Auty in her own words:-
I am a printmaker primarily working with Lino and Dry Point Etching, though I also experiment with various other printmaking techniques.
The process of creating a print excites me, and I love the anticipation of not knowing exactly what will emerge from the press at the end. Printmaking, with its endless possibilities, continues to fascinate and inspire me, whether I am producing a simple, single-colour print, or working on a complex reduction with multiple layers. I also enjoy experimenting with different processes, like Chine Collé in my work. There is always something new to learn and I find inspiration in everything around me. Currently, I’m exploring reduction Lino with sea-inspired prints whilst also researching historical patterns and mark-making techniques from ceramics to ancient illuminated scripts.

Collaborating with Worcester Arts Collective allows me to pursue my passion for helping others access their own creative expression. Their focus on community and accessibility aligns perfectly with my belief that printmaking is a wonderful medium for inspiring and encouraging people in their own creative journeys.

Thought it's time to show some of wac member Jim Hanlon's work.
In his words
"I love painting and the process of using paint. I reject the idea that I should be tied by style or technique. Sometimes the subject demands a particular approach, then sometimes it is merely a motif on which to build and explore. A continuous theme for me is the way a subject is revealed by the light."
Love his work, and don't forget he will be in open studios here this year.
