An enjoyable day out for all! 🙂

Last Thursday our Out and About passengers enjoyed a lovely day out at The Valley in Evesham followed by a stop off at Revill's Farm shop in Defford.

Time was spent browsing the great selection of shops and no doubt a purchase or two was made along the way! Revill's Farm shop has always been a favourite with our passengers and so we couldn't deny them some time there and delicious refreshments at The Farmhouse cafe.

If you, a friend, neighbour or relative would like to join us on one of our Out and About trips, please contact Fran Waite on 01684 892381 or visit https://www.communityaction.org.uk/out-and-about for more details.

Learning skills that save lives!

It was brilliant to see so many enthusiastic people learning vital CPR and defibrillator skills with Heartstart Malvern at Malvern Theatre on Friday 16th October, as part of Restart a Heart Day!

The session was led by our very own team member Richard Vakis-Lowe, helping people gain the knowledge and confidence to act in an emergency.

Every person who learns these lifesaving skills helps build a community where more people know what to do when someone suffers a cardiac arrest.

Knowing what to do, acting quickly and having the confidence to step in can make all the difference when someone's life is at stake.

A huge well done to everyone who took part, and thank you to Richard and Heartstart Malvern for helping make our community a safer place!

We will keep you informed about any upcoming courses in Malvern, or you could check out https://www.heartstartmalvern.org.uk/book_a_course.htm to see when spaces become available.

🏡 Goodbye 112 Worcester Road, hello Barnards Green! 🏡

After just over two years, we’ve said farewell to our home at 112 Worcester Road and begun an exciting new chapter at our new premises in Barnards Green!

Moving has been a busy, and at times rather chaotic, experience, but we’re getting there! A huge thank you to all our wonderful staff and volunteers who gave up their time last Thursday to help with the move. We couldn’t have done it without you, and we’re so grateful for all your hard work and support.

We’re now slowly settling into our new surroundings and working our way through a few teething problems as we get everything organised. Thank you to everyone for your patience while we get back up and running.

We hope to be fully operational again very soon and look forward to welcoming everyone to our new home in Barnards Green!

Please note - we are unable to accept telephone calls currently but you can leave a message on our answerphone and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Getting ready for Remembrance Day – 11th November 2026

Malvern Shed have been busy making a number of Tommy figures ready for Remembrance Day, and here’s Emlyn getting creative and being encouraged to paint them, under the watchful eyes of Chris and Martin!

We’re hoping to sell our handmade Tommies to raise a little money for one of our armed forces charities, supporting those who have served and sacrificed so much for us.

Keep an eye out for these special little creations, which will be available from the wonderful Malvern Shed!

A big thank you to everyone involved in making these Tommies and helping to support such a worthy cause.

If you fancy having a go at making one yourself then please pop along to the shed Tuesday - Friday mornings 9am - 1pm. For more information about Malvern Shed visit https://www.communityaction.org.uk/malvern-shed

What a wonderful afternoon we had at our Sunday Tea Club last Sunday at Welland Parish Hall!

It was lovely to see everyone come together for an afternoon of friendly conversation and, of course, a lovely cup of tea and refreshments!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the afternoon so special. Your support means so much to us, and we always love seeing our community come together.

We would also like to say thank you to Cold Chef in Barnards Green for providing such delicious food for our guests and also Madeline Sumner, Viv Nelson, Judith Crosby, Barbara Stephens and Maddie Valentyna Haines for supporting us on the day, and a final thank you to singer Judi Barzkiewicz for providing entertainment.

We look forward to welcoming you all again soon!

If you would like to find out more about our Sunday Tea Club please contact our Out and About Coordinator Fran Waite on 01684 892381 or email [email protected]

Could you make a difference by becoming a volunteer driver with Community Action?

As we celebrate Community Transport Week, we’ve been sharing just how important community transport is and the incredible difference our volunteers make to people’s lives.

But have you ever thought about becoming a volunteer driver yourself? 💭

Our volunteer drivers are at the heart of what we do. They help people get to essential medical appointments, enjoy social outings, visit friends and family, and stay connected to their local community. For many of our passengers, having a friendly, reliable driver means so much more than simply getting from A to B. It means independence, companionship, confidence and the freedom to keep doing the things they love.

There are so many benefits to becoming a volunteer driver:
⭐Make a real difference to people in your local community.
⭐Meet new people and build meaningful connections.
⭐Help older and more vulnerable people maintain their independence.
⭐Give something back and feel good knowing you’ve helped someone.
⭐Become part of a friendly, supportive team of volunteers.
⭐Enjoy the flexibility of volunteering around your own commitments.

One of the most inspiring things we’ve shared this Community Transport Week is our video featuring passengers talking about what having such wonderful volunteers means to them. Their words are a powerful reminder that even a simple journey can have a huge impact on someone’s life. A friendly face, a reassuring conversation and a helping hand in getting out and about can mean the world.

If what you’ve seen this Community Transport Week has inspired you to find out more, we’d love to hear from you! You don’t need to change the world to make a difference - sometimes, all it takes is getting behind the wheel and giving a little of your time.

📞 Get in touch with Community Action on 01684 892381 to find out more about becoming a volunteer driver and how you could help make a difference in your community, or visit https://www.communityaction.org.uk/volunteer-drivers to register your interest.

Our wheelchair accessible vehicles help you get out and about!

Did you know we offer wheelchair accessible transport to help you get to important medical appointments and enjoy social occasions?

Our friendly volunteer drivers are here to help you maintain your independence and make getting out and about that little bit easier.

Medical appointments – Simply call our office (giving at least 7 days notice) and we’ll do our best to arrange a volunteer driver to take you to your appointment.

Social occasions – Whether you’re visiting friends, attending an event, day centre or enjoying a day out, we can help you get there with a volunteer driver.

Our wheelchair accessible transport is a chargeable service, with affordable fares to help keep it accessible to those who need it.

Get in touch with us on 01684 892381 to find out more or discuss your transport needs. We’ll be happy to help!

Please note: While we aim to be as flexible as possible, our volunteer drivers are unable to provide moving and handling assistance or personal care.
