Big ideas and exciting conversations today as our learners and staff worked with Plan A UK Ltd to help shape the vision for our new creative space

Together, we explored plans, shared ideas, and talked about what young people want and need from a space designed for creativity, learning, wellbeing and connection. Every conversation mattered, and it was brilliant to see our learners at the centre of the design process.

A huge thank you to Paul Ginever and Allan Jackson from Plan A UK Ltd for leading such engaging youth voice consultations and really listening to our learners’ ideas and experiences.

We’re so excited to see these ideas come to life ✨

🎭 Is your child in Year 6 and living in Woking?

Branching Out is a supportive drama project from award-winning theatre charity Peer Productions, funded by the Mental Health Scale Up Fund from the Community Foundation for Surrey, designed to help young people feel more confident about the move to secondary school.

This free programme is especially for children who may be more likely to struggle with the transition to Year 7 due to:
• Anxiety or mental health challenges
• Learning disabilities
• Neurodivergence (such as autism or ADHD)
• Social, emotional or communication needs

Through fun drama activities, games and creative teamwork, young people can build confidence, make friends and feel more prepared for this big change.

The project includes:
⭐ Five sessions in Year 6
⭐ Five follow-up sessions in Year 7 for continued support

🗓 Session dates (Thursdays, 6–8pm):

Year 6 sessions:
11 June
18 June
25 June
2 July
9 July

Year 7 follow-up sessions:
24 September
1 October
8 October
15 October
22 October

Parents and carers can complete a short online form, and a member of our friendly team will be in touch to talk through your child’s needs and confirm venue details.

🌱 Places are limited for this free programme.

✨ Laughter, creativity, and teamwork have been filling the room as our Peer Empowerment Pathway (PEP) learners continue developing their own unique take on A Midsummer Night’s Dream. 🎭🌙

Over the past few weeks, learners have been exploring the story together, sharing ideas, supporting one another, and discovering the excitement that comes from creating performance as a team. From playful improvisations to bringing scenes to life, every session has been full of imagination, encouragement, and growing confidence. 💫

We love seeing young people connect through theatre — building friendships, trying new things, and finding their voice in a welcoming and supportive space.

We can’t wait to share more about this special production soon, including details of a public performance. 👀

🌟 Interested in joining PEP?We have a handful of places available to start the Peer Empowerment Pathway this September. If you know a young person who would thrive through creativity, collaboration, and performance, we’d love to hear from you.
