Last weekend, we held our second Nonna’s Kitchen fundraising event at The Lighthouse Woking, in partnership with our wonderful Lighthouse Ambassador, and Ms Galaxy Surrey 2027 finalist, Rosa Farrugia.💛

It was such a special evening, filled with delicious homemade food lovingly prepared by our team of Italian Nonnas, good company, plenty of laughs, and some incredible opera!

From start to finish, the evening was a beautiful celebration of food, community and connection, and we are so grateful to everyone who came along🍝

Every ticket sold helps us continue our work supporting people across our community, providing hope, connection, and practical support to those facing difficult times 💛

A huge thank you to our incredible Nonnas, Rosa, our performers, volunteers and everyone who joined us!✨

Earlier this August, we took 21 guests on a lovely day out to Wisley Gardens! 🌸🌿

We spent the day enjoying the beautiful plants and flowers in the sunshine, sharing wonderful company, and most importantly, creating happy memories together.

One guest described the trip as “an injection of wellbeing”, and said they felt so much better for coming along.

It’s moments like this that show us how important connection, community and simply having something to look forward to can be💛

This Saturday, Woking Foodbank will be hosting a Summer Food Collection at Waitrose, and we would love your support!

If you’re doing a weekly shop, picking up one or two extra items from the Foodbank’s shopping list to donate can help provide essential food and household items to people in our community who are facing crisis.

Items particularly needed include:
🥛 Long-life semi-skimmed milk
🧃 Long-life juice
🍫 Chocolate & snack bars
🧽 Multi-surface cleaner
🥫 Long-life savoury snacks
🧺 Small, non-bio laundry detergent
☕ Instant coffee
🍎 Tinned fruit & vegetables
🥜 Peanut butter, spreads & Marmite
🧼 Long-life toiletries

Join us for our second Nonna’s Kitchen Italian Supper Club event of the summer, raising vital funds for The Lighthouse’s Back to Life appeal Italian🇮🇹

After such a fantastic response to our first event, we’re bringing you another delicious evening in partnership with Lighthouse Ambassador, and Ms Galaxy Surrey 2027 Finalist, Rosa Farrugia.

Our Italian Nonnas have created a brand-new menu of authentic regional dishes, lovingly prepared using traditional family recipes and fresh ingredients. Alongside incredible homemade food, you’ll enjoy live entertainment, warm Italian hospitality, and a wonderful atmosphere🍝

A wonderful day by the sea for our Lighthouse Guildford guests!🏖️☀️

This week, our Lighthouse Guildford guests and team enjoyed a fantastic day trip to Littlehampton beach, creating memories to last a life time. For some guests, it was the first time they had seen the sea since their childhood, making the day even more special.

From games of French cricket, and a big picnic on the beach, to padding in the sea, swimming, and enjoying ice creams together, it was a day filled with laughter, connection and joy in the sun.

At The Lighthouse, moments like this are about so much more than a fun day out. They help reduce isolation, build confidence, strengthen friendships, and remind people that the belong💛
