This Thursday will see the beginning of a long weekend of fireworks 🎆.
As pretty and entertaining as they are , unfortunately they can be very scary for a lot of animals including dogs .
If this is your dogs first year in the house and they haven't experienced fireworks close , please make sure to be extra vigilant as they can be easily spooked .
Some of the following steps can help make sure all doggies stay safe this firework night (and weekend) ;
- Try and keep walks to daylight hours to avoid unexpected firework experiences . They won't come to any harm by having a garden let out rather than walk.
Many dogs can slip their leads etc if spooked.
- Keep the tv on when fireworks are going off to disguise the noise.
- Double check the garden is secure and watch them when they are outside incase fireworks start going off.
- If you are able to be with them always try to be as the first experience with fireworks can be the scariest . You are able to then see yourselves how they are around them and you know if it's something that upsets them .
