Band of Builders

Band of Builders Band of Builders is the UK Construction Charity providing practical, financial & well-being support

Band of Builders was born in 2016 when our founder took to social media to ask for help renovating the home of close friend and colleague Keith Ellick who had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. The incredible response from tradespeople across the UK saw the project completed and demonstrated what can be achieved when the industry stands together. From there, Band of Builders was formed and went

on to complete further projects across the UK with the value of TogetherStronger at its core. In 2019 the organisation gained charity status in England and Wales and now works formally to help members of the construction industry and their families across the country in their hour of need. Since that first project to help Keith, Band of Builders has completed in excess of 20 projects ranging from accessible bathrooms, wheelchair ramps, cabins and even complete home renovations. We provide practical support, an online community and a range of initiatives to support members of the construction sector and partner with industry leaders to ensure we can help as many people as possible. 🚴‍♂️ DAY TWO: The final push to Dortmund is on.

Our CEO Gavin Crane is back in the saddle today alongside the fantastic teams from SIG Roofing and their supplier partners as they take on the second and final day of this epic cycling challenge.

Having already covered hundreds of miles across the Netherlands and into Germany, the finish line is almost in sight - but it’s set to be a long, gruelling day in the heat, with plenty of challenging elevations still to tackle and almost the same distance to cover again before reaching Dortmund.

This challenge is raising vital funds for Band of Builders helping us provide practical, emotional and financial support to members of the UK construction industry facing illness, injury, hardship and crisis.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps us continue supporting those who need it most.

If you’re able to support the team’s incredible efforts, please consider making a donation today.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported the challenge so far, and to SIG Roofing and their supplier partners for helping make a difference across our industry.

Let’s keep the team’s spirits high for the final miles - leave a message of support in the comments, share this post and, if you can, make a donation to help us continue supporting construction workers and their families. 🧡
