The Branch and the whole of the RBL family send our deepest sympathies to the families, friends, and colleagues of the Royal Navy personnel who tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash in the early hours of Wednesday morning. This devastating incident will have shocked everyone in the Armed Forces community, and we stand ready to support.

We will remember them.

Earlier today at the National Memorial Arboretum, we were honoured to be joined by veterans, families, the bereaved and currently serving personnel to mark 15 years since the end of the Iraq War (Operation TELIC).

Men and women of our Armed Forces joined the US-led Coalition in the invasion of Iraq in March 2003, with the last British personnel departing on 22 May 2011.

The commemorative service at the Armed Forces Memorial paid tribute to all those in our Armed Forces community impacted by the conflict, and the 179 British Armed Forces personnel who lost their lives.

To the thousands who served in Iraq, today, we remember your courage and sacrifice.

Marking 15 years since the end of Operation TELIC, we reflect on the extreme conditions you faced and the sacrifices made by you and your families.

We will never forget the 179 personnel who did not return.
