πŸŽ‰πŸ’™ NATIONAL VOLUNTEERS' WEEK 2026 πŸ’™πŸŽ‰

This week, all of us at Donate For Defib are proud to celebrate and thank our incredible volunteers who give their time, energy, passion, and dedication to helping save lives across our communities.

From fundraising events and awareness campaigns to supporting the installation of life-saving defibrillators, our volunteers are at the very heart of everything we do. Their commitment helps us continue our mission of making defibrillators accessible where they are needed most and creating safer communities for everyone.

Every event organised, every donation collected, every mile travelled, and every hour volunteered makes a real difference. Together, we are helping to ensure that more people have access to vital emergency equipment when seconds count.

To every volunteer who has supported Donate For Defib – THANK YOU. Your kindness, generosity, and community spirit inspire us every day. ❀️

πŸ† We are incredibly proud and grateful that the Donate for Defib Project received the Mayor's Award last week.

This recognition means so much to us and acknowledges not only the work of the project but also our Defib Legacy in Memory Programme.

The award truly belongs to every past and present team member, supporter, family member, and volunteer who has helped shape the project into what it is today. Behind every defibrillator installed and every life that may be saved are people who have generously given their time, energy, compassion, and support to make a real difference in our community.

Over the last three years, an enormous amount of love, care, dedication, and hard work has gone into this project, and we simply could not have achieved any of it without you.

This award is not ours aloneβ€”it is a recognition that we proudly share with every person who has been part of this journey.

Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us create a lasting legacy that continues to save lives. ❀️

πŸš¨πŸ›Ή EXCITING COLLABORATION ANNOUNCEMENT πŸ›ΉπŸš¨

The multi-award-winning Donate For Defib W-S-M Project is delighted to be working with Skateboarding Collection UK to help raise awareness of the importance of defibrillators, CPR, and the Chain of Survival throughout our communities.

Based in Weston-super-Mare, Donate For Defib works alongside multiple air ambulance charities across the South West, supporting life-saving initiatives and helping to increase awareness of the vital role that public-access defibrillators can play during a cardiac emergency.

To celebrate this partnership, a unique skateboard-themed design showcasing Maya the Defib Dog Mascot has been designed for our Enthuse Page 🐢⚑.

The artwork has been specially designed to represent the life-saving work of Donate For Defib while highlighting the importance of rapid intervention when someone suffers a cardiac arrest.

πŸ“Š According to Resuscitation Council UK, fewer than 1 in 10 people survive an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in the UK. Immediate CPR and the use of a defibrillator can significantly increase a person's chances of survival.

Every donation helps support awareness, education, and projects that could ultimately help save lives across the South West and beyond.

❀️ We would be incredibly grateful for your support.

πŸ‘‰ Donate today and help us continue this life-saving work:

Together, we can help create more cardiac-safe communities and give more people the best possible chance of survival when every second counts.

We are truly grateful to the families who have supported the Defib Legacy In Memory Programme.

Your kindness and generosity in funding a defibrillator in memory of a loved one creates more than a lasting tributeβ€”it provides action, protection, and hope. It becomes a quiet promise that, in someone’s most critical moment, they may have a better chance of being saved.

The Defib Legacy In Memory Programme not only honours those who are remembered, but also celebrates the families who choose to transform their loss into a gift for others. Through every defibrillator placed, a legacy of love, community care, and compassion continues to make a difference.

A legacy is more than a memoryβ€”it is an enduring heartbeat that lives on in every life it helps to protect.

Fantastic to see that South Western Ambulance Service - Volunteering and Community Services are supporting DocBike Somerset & Avon with a donation of a life-saving defibrillator.

More than happy to support where we can too, here at Donate For Defib WsM Project!

We'd like to say a huge thank you to South Western Ambulance Service - Volunteering and Community Services for their generous donation of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator).

As their Community First Responders transition to a different AED model, they have kindly donated this unit to us.

This gives us a second defibrillator, which will be carried on our second engagement bike. So if someone was unfortunate to have a cardiac arrest whilst we are at an event we are able to start that chain of survival.

You may recognise this model, as it's one of the most commonly used AEDs found in public access defibrillator cabinets across the country.

Once again a massive thank you!

πŸŽ“ Celebrating the Next Generation of Medical Professionals! πŸŽ“

A huge congratulations to all of the medical students who worked with us last year and have now successfully completed their courses! πŸ‘

Your dedication, enthusiasm, and commitment played a vital role in supporting our Cardiac Arrest Research in partnership with the University of Bristol. Together, we have contributed to important research that will help improve patient care and outcomes in the future.

We are incredibly proud of everything you have achieved and grateful for the hard work and passion you brought to the project. It has been a pleasure to work alongside such talented future healthcare professionals.

As you embark on the next chapter of your careers, we wish you every success in your future roles and medical journeys. We have no doubt that you will make a significant difference in the lives of many patients.

Thank you for being part of this important work, and we look forward to the opportunity to work with many of you again in the future.

Congratulations once again and best of luck from all of us! πŸŽ‰πŸŽ“πŸ’™

Donate for Defib WSM was pleased to attend the Civic Service held at the Parish Church of St John the Baptist on Wednesday 27 May 2026.

We were honoured to accept a Mayor’s Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Local Community from Mayor/Councillor Mr Martin Williams The Mayor of Weston-super-Mare.

Donate For Defib WsM Project was formed in 2023 to provide much-needed defibrillators across our town and to raise awareness of their importance within the community.

Led by Josh Bell and supported by our amazing volunteers, the project continues to go from strength to strength, helping ensure Weston-super-Mare is becoming a truly defib-friendly place to live and visit.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support us on this journey.

Please follow us on Facebook and across our other social media platforms to keep up with our latest news and community projects.
