โค๏ธ The Defib Legacy in Memory Programme โค๏ธ

Behind every publicly accessible defibrillator, there is a story.

Some represent a community coming together, while others carry an even more personal meaning โ€” created as a lasting tribute to someone deeply loved, remembered and missed.

Through our Defib Legacy in Memory Programme, families can honour the life of a loved one by raising funds for a publicly accessible defibrillator in their memory.

We would like to take a moment to say a truly heartfelt thank you to every family who has chosen to create this incredible legacy. โค๏ธ

A defibrillator located nearby can provide vital lifesaving support in the crucial minutes before emergency services arrive, potentially giving someone a precious chance of survival.

To the families who are still fundraising, thank you for every donation made to bring your defibrillator closer to becoming a reality.

And to the families whose defibrillators in memory of a loved one are now installed in the community and have already been called upon in an emergency โ€” Thank you โค๏ธ

Choosing to fund a defibrillator in memory of someone you love is more than a tribute. It is a way of carrying their memory forward and transforming love and remembrance into hope for someone else.

Every time that defibrillator is checked, maintained or used, their legacy remains part of the community.

One day, it may give another family the precious gift of more time together. โค๏ธ

Many congratulations to the incredible Donate for Defib team on reaching this fantastic three-year milestone! ๐ŸŽ‰โค๏ธ

Weโ€™re incredibly proud to share these wonderful words from Professor Graham Stuart, Project Clinical Lead Ambassador and Former Consultant Cardiologist at Bristol Heart Institute (North Bristol NHS Trust) and Bristol Royal Hospital for Children:

โ€œYesterday, Donate for Defib reached a major milestone โ€“ three years of placing public access defibrillators for the benefit of the people of Weston-super-Mare. Many lives saved! Congratulations to the DfD team!โ€

Great to see that a Bleed Kit has been installed outside the Ebdon Arms in partnership with our colleagues at Avon and Somerset Bleed Kit Partnership!

Thank you for everyoneโ€™s ongoing support! โค๏ธ

๐Ÿšจ New Public Access Bleed Kit Installed at the Ebdon Arms Pub, Weston-super-Mare ๐Ÿšจ

We are pleased to announce the installation of a new public access bleed control kit at:
๐Ÿ“ Ebdon Arms Pub
๐Ÿ“ Lilac Way, Wick St Lawrence, Weston-super-Mare, BS22 9WE
๐Ÿ“Œ what3words: deep.draw.dock
๐Ÿ”— https://w3w.co/deep.draw.dock

This new bleed kit has been installed alongside the site's existing legacy-funded public access defibrillator provided through Donate For Defib WsM Project, further strengthening the emergency provisions available to residents and visitors in the local community.

This installation has been made possible through continued collaboration with our friends at Donate4Defib in Weston-super-Mare, who continue to play a vital role in improving access to life-saving equipment across North Somerset and beyond.

We are also grateful to the Avon & Somerset Police & Crime Commissioner, whose donation of this bleed kit demonstrates their ongoing commitment to public safety and community resilience. By expanding access to emergency bleed control equipment, the PCC is helping to ensure that members of the public have the tools they need to respond effectively in those critical moments before emergency services arrive.

Catastrophic bleeding can claim a life within minutes. Having both a defibrillator and a bleed control kit available at the same location provides a more comprehensive emergency response resource, giving local people the opportunity to act quickly and potentially save a life.

A huge thank you to Donate4Defib, the Police and Crime Commissioner, and the team at the Ebdon Arms Pub for supporting this important initiative and helping to make Weston-super-Mare an even safer place for everyone.

๐Ÿ’™ Together, we're building safer communities and helping save lives.
