This evening, David and Paul are logged on in CFR10, responding to emergency 999 and 111 calls across Rushden, Higham Ferrers and Wellingborough in support of East Midlands Ambulance Service.

Community First Responders provide a vital service, often arriving before an ambulance crew to begin assessment and treatment when every minute counts. CFRs carry a range of lifesaving equipment, including a defibrillator, oxygen, emergency first aid equipment and a Raizer chair , enabling us to provide immediate care to patients in need.

What makes this service even more remarkable is that it is delivered entirely by volunteers. We give up our own time to support our communities and help those experiencing medical emergencies when they need it most.

Have a safe evening, and if you see CFR10 out and about, give us a wave!

Stay safe and take care! 😊

It’s National Volunteers’ Week this week!

This week, we want to say a huge thank you to every single volunteer who gives their time to help others within our communities.

At Nene Valley Community First Responders, every response, every event, every CPR session, every defibrillator check and every hour spent supporting East Midlands Ambulance Service is carried out by volunteers giving up their own free time to help others when they need it most.

From responding to emergency 999 calls, teaching lifesaving skills, supporting community events and helping keep public access defibrillators ready for use — none of it would be possible without our amazing team.

We would also like to recognise and thank ALL volunteers across our local communities and beyond. Whether you support charities, sports clubs, community groups, rescue teams or local events, your contribution makes a real difference every single day.

Thank you for everything you do.

Stay safe and take care! 😊

We love seeing people out enjoying the sunshine and making the most of Northamptonshire’s amazing lakes, rivers and waterways

But while the weather may feel hot, the water can still be dangerously cold.

Every year, people get into difficulty after jumping into rivers and lakes, often because of cold water shock and hidden dangers beneath the surface.

This isn’t about stopping people having fun — it’s about helping everyone stay safe and get home to their families.

Please take care around open water, look out for each other, and enjoy the sunshine safely

Stay safe and take care 😎

This sunny afternoon, some of the team — Peter and Katie — are at the Weavers Academy Spring Festival with CFR10

We’re chatting to people about what we do as Community First Responders, showing off the response car and giving people the chance to have a go at CPR and learn more about basic life support skills — all vital skills that could one day help save a life.

We’re all volunteers and love getting out into the community to raise awareness and meet people, so if you see us there please come over, say hello and have a chat with the team!

Stay safe and take care 😎

Another hot and sunny day across Northamptonshire today, with David and Paul logged on in CFR10 supporting our community and responding to emergency calls on behalf of East Midlands Ambulance Service.

Already this morning they have responded to a Category 1 999 call in Higham Ferrers.

With temperatures rising today, please remember to take care, stay hydrated, wear sun protection and keep an eye on vulnerable family members, neighbours and pets.

Community First Responders play a vital role supporting the ambulance service, often arriving first on scene and providing immediate care while an ambulance is on the way.

A huge thank you to all of our volunteers, fellow CFRs and emergency service colleagues for everything you do to help keep our communities safe.

Stay safe and take care! 😎
