At 15, Toni felt completely alone. She had made two attempts on her life and told nobody. She felt ashamed and didn't know where to turn.

Then she called HopeLine 24/7.

"It was just a really shocking moment in my head when I realised there are people that can help and there are people that don't want me to feel like this."

Years later, Toni shaved her head at her prom to raise over £1,500 for Papyrus. She has completed a skydive in aid of Papyrus and continues to champion su***de prevention in her personal life.

This week is National Su***de Prevention Week and throughout the week we'll be sharing Voices of Hope - stories of loss, survival and hope from people who want to help others feel less alone.

Today we're sharing Amelia's story, told by her brother Ed.

Amelia had, from the outside, 'everything'. Two little girls, a partner, a job she loved and friends who adored her. She was the one everyone turned to. Nobody worried about Amelia.

In 2021, Ed lost his sister to su***de. He has spent the time since making sure others know to look a little closer at the people around them.

"It's not always the people you expect. You don't know what someone's mental health is like."

On average, 5 young people take their life every day.

Every one of them is someone's child, someone's friend. Behind every number is a life that mattered.

But su***de is preventable. With support at the right moment, young lives can be saved, and that's what HopeLine 24/7 is here for, day or night, for anyone worried about someone they love.

Just £15 could fund a 30-minute conversation with a HopeLine 24/7 adviser. A call that could help save a young life. Please donate today: https://ow.ly/QIaz50ZIMNf

You don't have to know what to say. That's what HopeLine 24/7 is for.

Our recent study found that 4 in 5 young people know someone who's had suicidal thoughts. But 1 in 3 wouldn't know what to say if a friend shared theirs.

Watching a friend struggle and not knowing what to do is really difficult. But nobody is expected to have all the answers. That's why HopeLine 24/7 is here, day or night, for anyone worried about someone they love.

Just £15 could fund a 30-minute conversation with a HopeLine 24/7 adviser. A call that could help save a life.

The start of a new school year brings up all sorts of feelings. Excitement for some. Worry for others. Sometimes both at once.

If there's a young person in your life heading back this week, this one's worth sharing with them.

We asked teachers what they wish every young person knew before term starts. The message underneath it all is a simple one. You're never on your own, and you won't get in trouble for being open.

Swipe through to read all 7. And if it might land for someone you know, send it their way.

If you're worried about a young person, or you're struggling yourself, HopeLine 24/7 is here. Any time, day or night.

Today is National Grief Awareness Day.

Grief doesn't follow a script. Some days you laugh. Some days you can't say their name. Some days it hits you completely out of nowhere. Some days it feels a little easier. And some days it feels like the very beginning again.

However you are grieving, it is valid. There is no right way. 💜
