🎶 Today’s the day! It’s our Dress Rehearsal! 🎶

Excitement is building at Cheshire Chord Company as we prepare to share our competition package for the first time under the direction of our new Musical Director, Emma Shanks, ahead of the LABBS Convention and competition later this month! 🩵

We’ve been so encouraged by the lovely response from our friends, families and former members. Knowing you’re cheering us on means so much to us.

Today is a chance to bring all our hard work together, enjoy singing for our supporters and build our confidence before stepping onto the competition stage.

Here’s to a wonderful rehearsal full of harmony, smiles and fun! 🎶✨

We're very pleased to share this Episode of SingLABBS, and our very own Victoria Chin's interview with Stage Manager, Donn.
It's great to hear his story and his experience of working backstage in competitive Barbershop.
He even gives some great advice about competing at Convention and shares his thoughts on how the chorus scene has evolved over the years! Well done to all involved 😃

How EXCITING is this?!

The SingLABBS podcast is back! And we can't wait for you to hear it! 🙏

Featuring the one and only Jill Cook, AND the one and only Donn Roberts!...

Massive thanks from us to Victoria Chin for all her hard work putting this together- we are so grateful!

✨ CCC RETREAT WEEKEND… WOW! ✨

What an absolutely AMAZING weekend for Cheshire Chord Company! 💛🎶

We’ve just returned from our retreat weekend, where we worked hard on our LABBS Convention competition songs. We've been refining our music, developing our performance and discovering just how much we are capable of!

Thanks to our incredible coaches, every single one of us was challenged, encouraged and inspired. We left the weekend feeling excited about what we’ve created and, for some of us, genuinely shocked by abilities we didn’t even realise we had! Those moments were brought out of each and every one of us by the amazing people guiding us throughout the weekend. 🌟

We were also treated to a special guest appearance from the lovely Jackie, who shared her fabulous advice on hair and make-up, making sure we’re ready to confidently rock the look when we hit that Convention stage! 💄✨

And of course, it wouldn’t be a CCC weekend without plenty of fun! 😂

The social side made the retreat even more special as we entertained each other with our many (and sometimes unexpected!) talents. From football fans to Catchphrase, with comedy, music, hula and plenty more in between… CCC certainly knows how to put on a show! 🤣🎶⚽🌺

This was also the first ever CCC retreat for several of our members, and, most importantly, our first with EmD.
WOW
What a fantastic experience and an absolute joy to be part of! 🩵

We came away feeling confident, ready and SO excited for everything the LABBS Convention will bring.
Huge thanks to our very own Emma Shanks - we're so very lucky to have you!

We cannot wait to perform, but just as importantly, we can’t wait to cheer on and support all our wonderful barbershop friends as we come together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of LABBS - the Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers 🎉🎂🎶

What a weekend THAT is going to be!

CCC is ready. 💛
Convention… here we come! ✨

There’s something pretty special about coming together, taking a breath, leaving your day at the door… and somehow turning a room full of individual voices into one amazing sound! ❤️🎵

Every voice has its own special job; from those sparkling Tenor notes and melody-loving Leads, to the wonderfully clever Baritone part and the rich foundation from our Basses.
Every single voice makes a difference, and choir just wouldn’t be the same without you!

So, choir friends, we’d love to know… 👇

What’s your favourite thing about being part of a choir?

Is it the music, the friendships, the performances, the laughs at rehearsals… or that unbeatable feeling when everything finally comes together?

Drop your answer in the comments, and tag a choir friend who always makes rehearsals more fun! 🎶😊

💛 LABBS ARE GOING FOR GOLD! 💛

We’re getting VERY excited about this year’s LABBS Convention!🎶

Cheshire Chord Company will once again be heading to Convention to sing, compete, catch up with friends and soak up all that wonderful barbershop harmony and this year is an extra-special one as LABBS celebrates its fabulous 50th anniversary! 🥳🎂🎵

And what better way to celebrate 50 golden years? The theme for Saturday night’s after-party is… GOLD!✨🌟🏆

So, once the competition shoes are off, we’ll be swapping our stage outfits for something a little more sparkly! The big question is… just how much gold can CCC get away with?! 😂✨

We can’t wait for a brilliant weekend of singing, friendship, laughter and celebration with the whole LABBS community.

Convention 2026 💛🎶✨
