π Volunteer Week Spotlight β Thank You, Lemmy! π
This Volunteer Week, weβre celebrating one of the true stalwarts of Walton Lea, our fantastic volunteer, Lemmy! π
For the past 5 years, Lemmy has been a huge part of our Woodwork Department, helping to create some truly outstanding pieces and playing an integral role within both the department and the wider Walton Lea family. π¨ πͺ
He particularly loves interacting with our learners, and whether heβs worked directly with them or not, thereβs always time for a friendly chat. π¬
Lemmy has built some wonderful friendships with our learners over the years, Jamie is right at the top of his list, always being incredibly helpful and a pleasure to work alongside. Paul B keeps him updated with all things football and Blackpool related, remembering to ask about Lemmyβs teams, while Sheila still fondly remembers the homemade soup Lemmy brought in for lunch five years ago! To this day, she loves telling him about the soups sheβs enjoyed the night before and promises that recipe is coming soon! β½οΈ π₯£
Outside of Walton Lea, Lemmy enjoys spending time with his granddaughter, keeping fit, and getting out for walks whenever the weather allows. πΆπΌββ‘οΈβοΈ
What Lemmy enjoys most is the satisfaction of creating items that can be sold in our shop or enjoyed in our gardens, knowing that his hard work is making a difference and helping to support the charity. ποΈ
Lemmy, thank you for your dedication, your hard work, your kindness, your humour, and for everything you have contributed over the last five years. Walton Lea simply wouldnβt be the same without you.
π From all of us at Walton Lea, thank you, Lemmy! π
