Last week, our CEO & founder Dave Thompson and Susan Sellers, Vice-Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire cut the ribbon to celebrate the opening of the new disabled access features at Lymm Heritage Centre. Attendees of the event were then given the opportunity to take a short cruise on our new accessible boat, the Wizard II - John B!

We had an unexpected little visitor join us – a young swan who had sadly become separated from its family. Thankfully, the Swan Sanctuary came to the rescue and safely collected the bird. They’ll care for it until it’s old enough to look after itself before returning it to the canal. In the meantime, the little swan seemed to enjoy plenty of attention and strokes from Dave and some of our swan-loving guests! 🦢❤️

Our new reception sign tells a story. There’s also a chapter you won’t find on the wall. 📖

Alongside Today Team are Speedy Courier Services, acquired in 2023, and Elite Logistics UK, which joined us in 2025.

Between those two successful acquisitions was a deal that fell apart at the final hurdle. Frustrating at the time, but the work behind it proved valuable when the Elite opportunity arrived.

As our Managing Director, Jamie Boyd, puts it:

🗣️ “Like lots of things in life and business, the experience comes right after you need it.”

The lessons from that process, alongside Speedy’s successful integration, helped give us a blueprint for Elite. One year on, clients are happy, the numbers are solid and we’re looking for acquisition number three.
