Parade season is here and our cadets smashed it tonight! ⚓️🔥

They were out on the main deck, hard at work perfecting their drill movements—getting every turn spot on, keeping the timing tight, and looking super sharp! 🥁✨

Loved seeing all the enthusiasm and great energy on deck tonight. We’re well and truly ready for all the exciting parades coming up! Keep smashing it, cadets!

Huge shoutout and massive congratulations to our incredible cadets and staff! 🌟👏

First off, a huge well done to our 3 cadets who represented us at the National Trafalgar Parade in London! You all did yourselves immensely proud and represented the unit impeccably! 🇬🇧✨

And the celebrations don't stop there! Another massive well done to our cadets and two staff members who attended the Lord-Lieutenant’s Awards Evening last Thursday!

You represented the unit brilliantly in front of the Lord-Lieutenant and made us all super proud. 🏅🤩

Thank you all for your dedication, hard work, and for being such top-class ambassadors for our unit! Keep up the brilliant work, team! 🙌🎉

🚒 What an incredible Sunday morning at the Fire Station! 🚒

Our cadets had an absolute blast on our visit! They got completely hands-on with the fire engines, checked out all the specialized kit and equipment, and even got a tour inside an ambulance to see what it takes to respond to emergencies.

To top off a fantastic morning, everyone headed outside to test out the hoses and get a real taste of firefighting in action! 💦🔥

A massive thank you to the local station team for having us and giving our cadets such an exciting, hands-on experience! 💙

⚓️ WE NEED YOU! – CITY OF TRURO T.S. PELLEW SEA CADETS ⚓️
Our unit is looking for new members to join our Unit Management Team (UMT) — and your support could make a real difference to the future of our Sea Cadets.

So, what is the UMT, and why do we need one?
The UMT plays a vital role in supporting the unit behind the scenes. From helping with fundraising and finances to supporting the running of the unit, community engagement and planning for the future, the UMT helps make sure our cadets have the resources and opportunities they deserve.

Our cadets need a strong support network.
Our adult volunteers work hard delivering activities and training, but they can’t do everything alone. A dedicated UMT helps share the workload, bring new ideas and skills into the unit, and ensure T.S. Pellew continues to provide fantastic opportunities for young people in our community.

You don't need to be a Sea Cadet veteran.
We’re looking for people who are willing to get involved, bring their skills and experience, and help support our young people.
Whether you have experience in: 💷 Fundraising or finance
📋 Administration
📣 Community engagement
🔧 Practical skills
💼 Business or project management
🤝 Working with local organisations

⚓ What a night to remember at the Unit! ⚓

Last night was packed with milestones, and we want to shine a massive spotlight on all our incredible cadets who took their next big steps with us:

🎖️ NEW ENROLMENTS
Welcome aboard to our 4 new Cadets who officially stepped up from NEC and are now fully enrolled CDT's!

⭐ PROMOTIONS
• 2 Cadets promoted to Cadet 1st Class
• 2 Ordinary Cadets promoted to Able Cadet

We were honored to host a VIP visit from Lieutenant Commander Brooks, alongside our District Chaplain who officially enrolled our new Unit Chaplain, Fr Owen Edwards.

A huge thank you to Lieutenant Commander Brooks and the District Chaplain for spending the evening with us, and a massive thank you to RMC W for doing a fantastic job guiding our VIPs around the unit.

A big thanks as well to all the other instructors who worked hard behind the scenes to make the night run so smoothly!

Every single cadet presented themselves with immense pride, showing off their knowledge, discipline, and respect.

Both the XO and I as TO are hugely proud of everything we saw last night—you all did a brilliant job representing our unit!

A massive congratulations to everyone! 💙🎖️

*Notes:
Election of the Unit Management Team (UMT) trustees – Individuals who are seeking election to the UMT must have their nomination proposed and seconded.
The criteria as to who is eligible to sit on the UMT can be found in the unit’s charity constitution (SCC)Please contact the Chair at [email protected] for more information.

All newly elected UMT trustees will be required to complete a disclosure application, complete a P1 form – application to join Sea Cadets which includes a Trustee Declaration indicating that they know of no reason why they cannot become a charity trustee, complete three online e-learning courses within two months and an Induction Day (currently virtual) within 6 months of joining.

👮‍♀️🚔 A huge thank you to our local police officers who came along to visit us at the unit!

The cadets had a brilliant evening getting hands-on with all things policing. They got to look at medals, try on some of the uniform, ask LOTS of questions, and even make their own fingerprint keyrings. 🕵️‍♀️🔍

And of course, no police visit would be complete without getting to set off the sirens! 🚨🤣

A fantastic evening, with plenty of fun, questions and new things to learn. A big thank you to our visitors for giving the cadets such a great experience!

From figuring out which way is up to perfectly timing the stroke—today’s gig rowing session was an absolute blinder!

Huge shouts to all the cadets who stepped out of their comfort zones, learned some fantastic new skills, and kept the team spirit flying high (mostly through non-stop banter and silly nicknames).

🚣 Well done to our four cadets who attended rowing at Falmouth last night.

There was a lot to learn, plenty of new skills to get their heads around, and more than a few moments of "what on earth am I doing?" 🤣

Every one of them stepped outside their comfort zone, got stuck in, and gave it their all. That's exactly what being a cadet is all about, and we're incredibly proud of them.

Not many photos I'm afraid – it's surprisingly difficult to take pictures when everyone's busy trying not to row in circles! ⚓💪

Massive thanks to Falmouth & Penryn Sea Cadets for use of their kit and to PO Alford for being our instructor.
