🎷✨ Last year's Al Hodge Student Award winner, Flo, has had a fantastic year and we're delighted to share an update on her musical journey.

Since receiving the award, Flo has continued performing with Cornwall Wind Orchestra, Carrick Winds, Cornwall Youth Jazz Orchestra, Sax Is Our Business, Tros Meor and the Falmouth School Jazz Band. Her highlights include performing a solo set at the Falmouth Christmas Tree Festival switch-on, winning the Grade 7/8 Woodwind Class at Camborne Music Festival, and performing at the Cornwall Young and Talented celebration event.

By combining funding from the Al Hodge Student Award and Young and Talented Cornwall, Flo was able to purchase a second-hand Yanagisawa alto saxophone.

As Flo's mum told us, she is "absolutely delighted with" her new instrument, which she will be taking to Birmingham this summer as she performs with the Cornish county ensembles at the Music for Youth Festival in Symphony Hall.

We are so proud of everything Flo has achieved and are thrilled to see the impact that the award has had on her musical development. A huge thank you to Alstock for helping support talented young musicians like Flo. We can't wait to see what she does next! 🎶

🎶 Thank You Cornwall! 🎶

We're thrilled to share that, thanks to your incredible generosity, we've now raised £7,234 towards our £11,000 target to help over 50 young musicians travel to the National Festival of Music for Youth at Symphony Hall, Birmingham! 🎺🎷✨

We're so close, but we still need your help to get over the finish line.
