Week 5 of in Helston and fantastic to see this group coming together to make beetroot, chickpea and coconut curry with homemade flatbreads and an Asian inspired cucumber salad! Each participant then took home their locally grown veg box to try new things at home. With grower and facilitator / cook Mark Floyd from POM Cornwall and staff and participants from Cober Valley Health and Helston Medical Centre.

From Survivor to Volunteer - A wonderful case study from someone who's benefitted from a Stroke Befriender and now plans to become a volunteer to support others.

Case Study:
PF lost confidence and become isolated after her stroke. Through the emotional support and encourangment she received from her Stroke Befrienders, PF gained confidence, experienced reduced isolation and re-engaged with her local community. There is no better testament to the significant positive impact thishad on PF's life than her having applied to become a Stroke Befriender herself.

"Alan and Ally have been absolutely amazing. I don't feel alone anymore. And now I want to do the same for someone else."
