Storehouse Foodbank helps people in need of food, toiletries and household goods. To donate via bank transfer - CAF 40-52-40 00015649

It is a project of WaterWays Vineyard (formerly known as West Wilts Vineyard) - CIO No. 1174910. Storehouse food bank is a project that aims to support families, couples and individuals in short term need of food and toiletries. The service began in 2006 in response to a growing need within our community and since this time we have developed good working relationships with a range of local agencies and services aiming to support the wider community. In April 2010, the food bank opened a referral centre and since then has served 9,500 people. This equates to 85,500 meals. People who are in need of our support have found themselves in difficult circumstances often through no fault of their own. They may have been made redundant or have lost work through severe illness. Some service users are attempting to rebuild their life after the breakdown of a marriage or partnership or they could be recovering from a situation of domestic violence. Access to Storehouse is available to people who are referred by a supporting professional such as a teacher, social worker, key worker, minister, or through another agreed referral agency. Provisions can be collected from our referral centre where service users will be provided with three days’ supply of food.

This Saturday, a number of our amazing team will be giving up their time to take part in First Aid training, helping us ensure our community is kept safe, supported and well cared for. 🩹

Being part of a community is about looking out for one another, and our volunteers continue to show just how much that matters. Giving up a Saturday to learn new skills and be better equipped to help others is something truly worth celebrating. 💚

🌱 A HUGE THANK YOU TO OUR LOCAL SCAFFOLDING COMPANY! 🌱

We’d like to say a massive thank you to our local scaffolding company for generously donating 20 scaffold boards, each 13ft long, to help us create our new raised beds at the allotment. 💚

This kind donation will make a real difference to our allotment project, helping us build beds where we can grow fresh fruit, vegetables and flowers for our community.

We’re incredibly grateful for the support of local businesses who help community projects like ours grow and thrive. 🌻🥕🍅

🎉 WE’RE WELL ON THE WAY TO OUR 100 CLUB TARGET! 🎉

When we first started sharing our 100 Club posts, we were hoping to reach our target of 100 donations of each item for our Christmas Hampers — and thanks to your incredible generosity, we’re well on the way! ❤️

Here’s where we’re up to so far:

🥫 81 tins of ham
🥫 50 tins of corned beef
🥤 98 squash
🧃 39 cartons of fruit juice

A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has donated, shared our posts or supported us along the way. Every single donation makes a real difference, and we’re so grateful for your kindness and support. 🥰

We’re getting closer to our target, but we still need a little help to top up our supplies of corned beef and fruit juice.

🌱 Allotment Update – This Week! 🌿

It’s been another busy week down at the allotment! 💪

🏗️ We’ve started preparing the ground for our shed, getting one step closer to having a proper base for all our tools and equipment.

🌿 We’ve dug out a shed-load of dock leaves (quite literally! 😅), clearing the way for our plans to take shape.

🐝 We also discovered and dealt with an unexpected wasps’ nest — definitely not the kind of wildlife we were hoping to find!

🛠️ We’ve started sourcing equipment to help us get everything up and running.

📏 And finally, we’ve marked out the borders of our plot, making it feel a little more like our space.

Slowly but surely, we’re making progress! There’s still plenty to do, but every little step gets us closer to turning this plot into something special. 🌻💚

We recently put out a request for tins of corned beef, and we’re delighted to share that we’ve received 37 tins so far! 🥫👏

We know corned beef is an expensive item, especially with the rising cost of food, so we truly appreciate every single tin donated. ❤️

These will help us add something a little special to our families’ Christmas food parcels, helping us make Christmas that little bit brighter for those who need it most. 🎅🎁
