Storehouse Food Bank Trowbridge

Storehouse Food Bank Trowbridge Storehouse Foodbank helps people in need of food, toiletries and household goods. To donate via bank transfer - CAF 40-52-40 00015649

It is a project of WaterWays Vineyard (formerly known as West Wilts Vineyard) - CIO No. 1174910. Storehouse food bank is a project that aims to support families, couples and individuals in short term need of food and toiletries. The service began in 2006 in response to a growing need within our community and since this time we have developed good working relationships with a range of local agencie

s and services aiming to support the wider community. In April 2010, the food bank opened a referral centre and since then has served 9,500 people. This equates to 85,500 meals. People who are in need of our support have found themselves in difficult circumstances often through no fault of their own. They may have been made redundant or have lost work through severe illness. Some service users are attempting to rebuild their life after the breakdown of a marriage or partnership or they could be recovering from a situation of domestic violence. Access to Storehouse is available to people who are referred by a supporting professional such as a teacher, social worker, key worker, minister, or through another agreed referral agency. Provisions can be collected from our referral centre where service users will be provided with three days’ supply of food.

We're delighted to have received a donation of books, made possible through funding from Speaking Volumes and the Andrew's Charitable Trust.

These books will be added to our Storehouse Library, where our users can borrow and enjoy them at their leisure. Access to books and reading opportunities can make a real difference, and we're grateful for this support in helping us expand our library collection.

Thank you to Andrews Charitable Trust for making this possible.

Throughout May, we’ve been able to share food, conversation, and care with our community in some really meaningful ways 💛

Each Wednesday, our team served an average of 27.5 two-course meals, adding up to 110 meals across the month. At Nexus, our breakfast support for people who are homeless or vulnerably housed, we served 147 breakfasts over 8 sessions — an average of just over 18 breakfasts each time.

Altogether, that’s 257 meals shared in May.

Behind every one of those meals is an incredible team of volunteers — from those who cook, to those who serve, to those who sit and talk with people, to those who wash up afterwards. Every role matters, and we are deeply grateful for each and every person who gives their time so generously.

Thank you for helping make this possible 💛

Here are our figures for May 💛

We’ve been trialling some new software recently, so you may notice some differences in how this month’s reporting looks compared to previous months. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be taking a closer look at the data to understand whether these changes reflect improvements in how we report, or whether we need to make a few adjustments as we go.

What we do know is that we continue to support a large number of people, especially through our food bank services, and that remains at the heart of everything we do.
In the days ahead, we’re also looking forward to sharing more about the wider work we’re doing across our other services, now that we have even better ways of capturing the impact. Thank you for being part of this journey with us 💛

🌟 Volunteers' Week 2026 🌟

This week, we're celebrating the incredible people who make so much of what we do possible.

From our Foodbank and Storehouse teams, to Community Lunch, Café, Nexus, Calm and Create, fundraising events, the tombola team, sorting donations, preparing food, offering a listening ear, welcoming visitors, and all those working faithfully behind the scenes—every role matters, and every volunteer makes a difference.

Your generosity, compassion, commitment, and willingness to serve help create a place where people find practical support, friendship, hope, and community.

Whether you're on the front line meeting people every week or quietly helping things run smoothly in the background, your contribution is invaluable.

Thank you for the time you give, the kindness you show, and the difference you make every single day.

❤️ This Volunteers' Week, we celebrate and appreciate every one of you.

❤️ A Little Support Can Make a Big Difference ❤️

One of our lovely clients first came to Storehouse when things were incredibly difficult. Rising costs meant they were relying heavily on foodbank support and were struggling to afford to use their cooker at home.

After chatting together, we suggested trying a slow cooker as a cheaper and easier way to prepare meals. Thanks to the kindness of our amazing community, we were able to source one through donations after putting a request out on our page.

Now, things are looking very different ✨

Not only are they now using our pantry for affordable shopping and support, but they’re also excitedly trying new meals, cooking different foods, and feeling more confident in the kitchen again ❤️

Sometimes it’s the small things — advice, encouragement, practical support, and community kindness — that help make the biggest difference.

Thank you to everyone who supports Storehouse and helps us continue supporting local people every day.
