Storehouse Food Bank Trowbridge

Storehouse Food Bank Trowbridge Storehouse Foodbank helps people in need of food, toiletries and household goods. To donate via bank transfer - CAF 40-52-40 00015649

It is a project of WaterWays Vineyard (formerly known as West Wilts Vineyard) - CIO No. 1174910. Storehouse food bank is a project that aims to support families, couples and individuals in short term need of food and toiletries. The service began in 2006 in response to a growing need within our community and since this time we have developed good working relationships with a range of local agencie

s and services aiming to support the wider community. In April 2010, the food bank opened a referral centre and since then has served 9,500 people. This equates to 85,500 meals. People who are in need of our support have found themselves in difficult circumstances often through no fault of their own. They may have been made redundant or have lost work through severe illness. Some service users are attempting to rebuild their life after the breakdown of a marriage or partnership or they could be recovering from a situation of domestic violence. Access to Storehouse is available to people who are referred by a supporting professional such as a teacher, social worker, key worker, minister, or through another agreed referral agency. Provisions can be collected from our referral centre where service users will be provided with three days’ supply of food.

🛒 HELP US RESTOCK OUR SHELVES! ❤️

We’re going to be at Tesco on Saturday 5th Sept from 12pm until just after 4pm, and we’d absolutely love your help!

After a really busy summer, we’re working hard to replenish our food bank stocks and make sure our shelves are well stocked for the months ahead.

If you’re doing your Tesco shop tomorrow, would you consider picking up an extra item or two for us? Every single donation makes a difference. ❤️

We’re particularly looking for some of our fast-moving essentials, including:
🥛 UHT milk
🍜 Pot noodles
🍝 Pasta in sauces
🥫 Tinned curry
🥫 Tinned spaghetti bolognese
🥫 Tinned macaroni cheese
🥫 Tinned meatballs
🌭 Hot dogs
🍅 Pasta sauces
🍪 Biscuits

And this time, we’re really hoping to build up our stocks of tinned soup and tinned vegetables too. 🥣🥕🥫

So if you’re in Tesco tomorrow, please look out for us and see if you can add something to your trolley for the food bank.

🎪 Festival season is over… but what are you going to do with that pop-up tent? 👀

Before it ends up gathering dust in the shed (or worse… in the bin!), donate it to us! 💚

We can give your unwanted pop-up tent a new lease of life, helping us support people who are sleeping rough in our community.

♻️ Your festival tent could have a second life.
🙌 We’d love to give it one.
So if you’ve got a pop-up tent you no longer need, don’t pack it away forever — donate it to us!

📍 Drop off at Storehouse, Emmanuel's Yard off Union Street, any weekday morning.

Here are a few of the headlines from August here at Storehouse 💙

It’s been a very difficult month for many, but throughout it all, we’ve continued to provide support, connection and community to those who need it most.

A huge thank you to all our incredible volunteers for their continued hard work, and to everyone who supports us financially or through donations. Your generosity makes such a difference, and we’re incredibly grateful for every contribution. 🙏

Together, we’re helping to make sure no one has to face difficult times alone. 💙

💬 **IF OUR SHELVES COULD SPEAK…**

We think they’d have a little message for you this week:

🫘 “Please send beans!”

🍜 “And maybe some Pot Noodles?”

🍝 “Pasta in sauce would be brilliant!”

🍑 “Some tinned fruit would be lovely.”

🍚 “And please don’t forget the rice pudding!”

Luckily, **you can speak shelf!** 😉🛒

If you’re doing your weekly shop and can add one of these items to your basket, we’d be incredibly grateful.

Every tin, packet or pot you donate helps us support local people and families who are facing difficult times. ❤️

Thank you for helping us keep our shelves stocked and our community supported. 🥰

🌱 We’ve Got an Allotment! Now Let’s Bring It to Life 🌱

We’ve been given the opportunity to create something really special — and we’d love you to be part of it.

We’ve just been awarded an allotment, and we’re incredibly excited to get started! 💚

At the moment, it’s very much a blank canvas — so our first job is to get stuck in, clear it, dig it over and start turning it into a welcoming, productive space.
And we’d love some help!

🌱 Fancy getting your hands dirty? We’re looking for a few people who’d like to join an initial team to help us get the site into shape.

👩‍🌾 Are you part of a group or organisation? We’d love to hear from groups who might be interested in coming along for a practical day, volunteering together or providing some valuable work experience.

🌻 Have a skill or something you’d love to share? We’re also looking for people who might like to run a small workshop, activity or informal group at the allotment.

You don’t need to be an expert gardener. You don’t need loads of experience. If you’re enthusiastic, practical, curious or just fancy being part of something from the very beginning, we’d love to hear from you.

Our hope is that, over time, this becomes much more than just an allotment — a little community space where people can learn, share, grow things and grow together. 🌿

So, if you think you might like to be involved, drop us a message or leave a comment below.

This is only the beginning… 🌱

More soon, including an appeal for equipment and other things we’ll need to get the allotment up and running!

Did you know? 🛒💚

We’re incredibly grateful to collect food donations from three major supermarkets in Trowbridge:

🛒 Asda
🛒 Sainsbury’s
🛒 Tesco

These collections make a huge difference to our foodbank stocks and help us provide essential food and household items to local families and individuals who are struggling.

Every donation, whether it’s a single packet of pasta or a whole trolley of food, adds up and helps us support someone in our community.

A massive thank you to the supermarkets, their staff, and everyone who chooses to donate when they shop. Your generosity helps keep our foodbank going. 💚

Shop. Donate. Make a difference.

Friday Morning Volunteers Wanted! ☕

Friendly faces, community spirit and a warm welcome!

Our Community Café is looking for a couple of outgoing, friendly volunteers to join us on Friday mornings.

No previous café experience is needed. We’re looking for people who are happy to get involved, enjoy meeting and chatting with others, work well as part of a team and can carry out the tasks involved in the role.

We want our volunteering opportunities to be welcoming and accessible to everyone. If you’re interested but need some support or adjustments to help you take part, please get in touch — we’re happy to have a chat about what might work for you.

If you’re friendly, reliable and enjoy helping create a welcoming community atmosphere, we’d love to hear from you! 💛

Get in touch to find out more or come and have a chat with us.

✨ BEFORE & AFTER! ✨

We’re so pleased to share the transformation of our refurbished community space! 🏡💚

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has been involved. We truly believe this is now a much more peaceful, calm and welcoming space for our community to enjoy.

A very special thank you to Roger for laying the carpet — many hours of hard work, dedication and effort went into making the space look fantastic. 👏

And an absolutely HUGE thank you to Jo, who runs our Vinted account. Every penny raised from her Vinted sales has gone towards funding this refurbishment. What an amazing contribution to our work and our community! ❤️

We couldn’t have done this without everyone’s support. Thank you! 🙏
