Here's what your donations mean to the women whose lives we are changing through education:

“Dear WEP, I am writing this message with a heart full of gratitude and joy to inform you of a milestone I have recently achieved – I have successfully completed my studies and will soon be receiving my graduation certificate from Nutrition and Dietetics, Ahfad University for Women, one of the most respected institutions in its field. This achievement would not have been possible without your generous educational scholarship and unwavering support. Your belief in me, your investment in my future, and your commitment to empowering students like myself have truly changed the course of my life.

Words cannot fully express how thankful I am. You did not just provide financial assistance, you gave me hope, strength, and the motivation to keep going when things were difficult. Because of your kindness, I was able to focus on my studies, grow academically and personally, and now, step confidently into the future. Thank you for opening this door for me. I carry your generosity in my heart, and I promise to make the most of the opportunity you’ve given me. I hope one day to be in a position to help others, just as you have helped me. With all my sincere appreciation and respect, Reem Nabeel Mohammed, On behalf of all the graduating students Thank you so much.”

Your support helps us continue our vital work educating women and girls in South Sudan and Sudan — some of the world’s most disadvantaged communities. These are women who have fled violence, lost their homes, or grown up without access to education.

We are grateful to the Coles-Medlock Foundation, our campaign Champion, for matching your donations and helping us make every gift go further.

On this International Women’s Day, we pay tribute to all the participants and literacy trainers of our Women’s Literacy Programme, now sadly suspended due to the on-going conflict. What was built can be rebuilt.

On International Women’s Day, we share this photo of Sara. She is now continuing her medical degree at the University of Juba. She missed out on almost two years of her education because of the war. You see, her home is in Darfur, Sudan. She and two other women students managed to get all the way to Juba in South Sudan. Of course they had to leave everything behind. With the help of the Women’s Education Partnership her tuition, accommodation and other costs have been met. This included her textbooks and a required stethoscope. Sara is one of a number of refugees from the war in Sudan who is now being supported along with women from South Sudan who could not go to higher education without this support. On International Women’s Day find out more at https://womenseducationpartnership.org/
If you would like to do something for women like Sara, you can donate on the website. It costs a lot to carry out this type of support for women. But just think. Sara is in her fourth year of the seven year training. Women doctors are rare in her part of the world. What a waste it would be for her not to qualify.
Just another thought, imagine studying while your whole family is back in the war zone? And we know that genocide is rife in Darfur.
