🌿 Remembering Dale, bringing his vision to life
This half term, volunteers from Wyndham Boys and Girls Club, Bettws BGC and The Mem Community Centre Inc Nantymoel Boys And Girls Club came together for three days of gardening work at The Lodge, making a fantastic start on creating a reflective garden in memory of Dale Davies, our much-loved former Lodge Manager, who sadly passed away in 2025.
Dale's passion and love for The Lodge transformed not only the place itself, but also the experiences and memories of generations of young people who stayed here and took part in his activities.
His vision was to create a peaceful space behind The Lodge, where people could pause, reflect and enjoy the stunning views. This project is a tribute to Dale and the lasting mark he left on The Lodge.
Three days was just the beginning, but look at how much has already been achieved!
We also had a lovely surprise visit from Michelle, local councillor, who kindly brought along some bulbs for the garden. We really appreciate her thoughtfulness and support.
A heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers who gave their time and energy, and a special thank you to Sam and Luke from EggSeeds for leading the work.
Dale's vision continues, and so does the work to bring it to life.
