While our roots are in RCT, we’re keen to connect with people and organisations from across Cwm Taf Morgannwg and beyond. Whether you’re already a member or completely new to the Network, you’re very welcome.

Our Tir Pontypridd Annual General Meeting 2026 will be taking place from 7pm on Weds 30th September @ Capel Y Bont, Gelliwastad Road, CF37 2BW. Map Link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/X6rpKTvN2ZjegVbf6

This will be the final AGM for the Community Association and the first AGM for the Community Benefit Society and covers the period starting from the 1st meeting of the CBS in Jan 2025 up until the end of the last financial year starting in April 2026.

Save the Three Fields Campaign, Cowbridge success!

Congratulations to the Save The Three Fields Campaign near Cowbridge, who have successfully raised the money needed for a community purchase of land precious to the local community 😀

"The land known locally as the “Three Fields” is a historic link between Cowbridge and Llanblethian... The area holds deep and lasting memories for many in the local community...", especially Adrian.

"Adrian Griffiths, a local resident, started the campaign with the aim of purchasing the land to protect it from housing development and to ensure that it remains as it is today for the enjoyment of future generations".

"The land has a guide price of £185,000 however due to the nature of an auction this may be far exceeded". I'm not sure how much was raised but the go fund me page says they'll provide an update soon.

Well done to the people of Cowbridge & the Vale of Glamorgan, who whilst having quite a bit more money than we do here in Pontypridd, also recognise that community ownership = community control 😀

Coed-Y-Fforest / Barry Mountain Update 24.7.26

This afternoon we received notification that despite a successful crowd funding campaign we have been unsuccessful in our bid to purchase circa 8 acres of ancient woodland near Treforest.

We did raise thousands of £'s in donations, grant funding, and several significant financial pledges from local residents. But this wasn't enough for us to put in a bid that met the expectations of the owners.

Some significant individual pledges made by local residents were specific to this woodland. However the money raised in donations and grant funding will be retained and put towards a future land purchase.

We've learned a lot about the competitive nature of buying land through informal tender, established new relationships with residents, partners and funders, and recruited new members & volunteers.

We'll be taking a short break from crowd funding and land buying for the summer while we write our annual report and prepare accounts for our first AGM as a Community Benefit Society in September.

We really appreciate all the encouragement and support we've received over the last few weeks. Every interaction makes a difference & every £ in donations and funding gets saved towards buying land.
