Providing a safe haven and tender loving care for horses and ponies suffering from neglect, ignorance or cruelty since 1991. Registered charity no. 1002933

How many can you name? 🫵 We have more than 50 pit ponies and horses at The Pit Pony Sanctuary, all with their own personalities, stories and - thanks to your donations - happy and healthy lives ahead of them 💚

We'll be sharing more about our herd over the next few weeks, but, in the meantime, did you know that a £5 donation can part pay for a bale of hay/straw? And that £20 part covers the cost of a hoof trim for one horse/pony? A little kindness makes a big difference.

If there's one thing we love about our work at The Pit Pony Sanctuary, it's this:

✨ Giving horses and ponies a new lease of life! ✨

With that in mind, we'd like to introduce you to our latest rescue, Boogie: a beautiful ex-racehorse with a habit of mistaking fingers for carrots! 🥕 Boogie came to us as a rescue from the horse racing industry and was in desperate need of urgent medical care with two very painful, exposed sarcoids. Surgery to have them removed can cost up to £7,000 so Boogie's temporary carers came to us at the charity for his immediate and long-term support.

👉 Now he's living with the team at Hillside Animal Sanctuary alongside his new best pony friends, and is recovering well!

As ever, we couldn't have managed it without your support and donations, so on behalf of Boogie and the entire team, THANK YOU.

Hello everyone, it's been a while! 👋🏼

There's been a lot of activity in the background over the past year and a half, with resettling our herd at Hillside Animal Sanctuary in Norfolk, building two Special Care Barns for medical support, rehabilitating x10 horses from a riding school in Keswick, and now looking after more than 50 horses and ponies in total!

And through it all, your donations continue to provide a safe haven for our herd, and we'll be sharing more updates and information with you moving forward 😄

- How your donations benefit the horses
- Their individual stories
- How you can get involved/sponsor/visit
- Fundraising events
- and maybe some exciting brand & tech updates, too!

During December and January, we asked for your support in fundraising for the Special Care Barns that provide care for animals like Noddy, Charlie, and Honey upon their arrival at the Sanctuary,

We are delighted to share that with the help of your donations we have one up and running already!

We want to thank you for all your support and generous donations that have helped us build the Special Care Barns.

These stables provide a clean and safe environment where medical care can be safely administered to the neediest ponies arriving at Hillside.

A big thank you from all of us.

*FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN FOR TWO SPECIAL CARE STABLES*

Noddy, Charlie, and Honey have all been cared for in special care stables, at Hillside, upon their arrival.

In these facilities, they can be cared for around the clock with volunteers and staff on hand to care for their every need, on demand.

These stables provide a clean and safe environment where medical care can be safely administered to the neediest ponies arriving at Hillside.

However, there is simply not enough of them.

*Each special care stable costs £3,000 to build so we are hoping to reach £6,000 in donations so that we can build two more.*

Every penny counts! Please give what you can.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT HAS DONATED SO FAR - WE REALLY APPRECIATE IT.

We can receive donations in the form of cheques, card payments, or directly through our website via the link here:

As the year ends, we would like to thank all our supporters for your kindness and generosity.

The herd is settled and happy in their new surroundings at Hillside, and it is thanks to your donations, that we can continue to care for and rescue ponies in need.

From all of us here at The Fforest Uchaf Horse and Pony Rehabilitation Centre, we would like to take this opportunity to wish all our followers a very happy holiday season, and a Happy New Year.
