πŸ’œ Celebrating Volunteers' WeekπŸ’œ

This Volunteers' Week, we want to take a moment to recognise and celebrate the incredible people who give their time, energy, skills, and passion to support Behaviour Support Hub.

If we're honest, volunteering hasn't always been an area we've done particularly well. Like many small organisations, we've been learning as we've grown. But over the last year, we've made a real commitment to strengthening volunteering and ensuring volunteers are valued, supported, and truly integrated into our work.

We're incredibly proud to have achieved the Investors in Volunteers Accreditation this year, recognising the steps we've taken and our commitment to providing a positive volunteering experience.

Our current volunteer team may be small, but they are certainly mighty. Whether supporting administration, fundraising, social media, project development, or bringing fresh ideas and perspectives, their contribution makes a genuine difference. They help us reach more families, strengthen our services, and build a more connected community.

As we continue to grow, we have exciting plans to expand our volunteer opportunities and create meaningful roles that allow people to share their talents, gain experience, and make a lasting impact. We're also looking forward to welcoming our newly recruited volunteers in the coming weeks and months.

To every volunteer who has supported us, past and present: thank you. Your commitment, generosity, and belief in what we do help make Behaviour Support Hub what it is today and what it can become tomorrow.

Here's to our amazing volunteers β€” the heart of community, connection, and positive change. πŸ’œ

πŸ’¬ **We want to hear from you – Parent Carer Consultation**

Parent carers know better than anyone what life is really like when supporting a neurodivergent child or young person. That’s why your voice is absolutely vital in shaping the support we offer.

We are currently gathering views to help us develop future services and funding bids – and we want to make sure they are built around *what actually matters to you*.

🧑 What support do you need right now?
🧑 What would genuinely make a difference in your day-to-day life?
🧑 What would support for you and your emotional wellbeing look like?
🧑 What’s missing in your current support network?

Whether it’s emotional support, practical guidance, community connection, or simply having space to be heard – we want to understand it from your perspective.

This short consultation is your chance to shape what comes next. Every response helps us build support that reflects real experiences, not assumptions.

Returning to school after a break can feel overwhelming for many neurodivergent children. πŸ’›

What can sometimes look like avoidance, shutdown or difficult behaviour may actually be an anxious nervous system needing time, safety and support to regulate first.

Small adjustments, understanding adults and emotionally safe spaces can make a huge difference. Compassion first, learning follows. 🌈
