🐾💗 Free Work Friday: Siren’s little adventure!

Last week, Siren enjoyed some time away from the Centre with a visit to Staple Dogs, giving her the chance to experience a different environment and take a break from kennel life 🥰🐶

Free work is a great way to give dogs the freedom to explore at their own pace, make choices and engage with their surroundings without pressure. It can encourage confidence, support emotional wellbeing and help them learn to relax 💕

Getting offsite is valuable, too! New environments provide different sights, sounds and smells, offering enrichment and a welcome change of scenery 🌿🐾

Every dog deserves opportunities to decompress, explore and just be a dog, and we love being able to offer Siren experiences like this 🩷

🎃 HALLOWEEN COUNTDOWN: BELLATRIX 🐾

Day thirty of our Halloween countdown and Bellatrix has officially been transformed into a pumpkin! 🎃🧡

This lovely lurcher lady is looking rather pleased with her seasonal makeover, although we're not entirely convinced she's impressed by the idea of being compared to a vegetable 😂

Bellatrix is an active girl who enjoys having fun, so we suspect she'd rather be out stretching those long legs than sitting around looking decorative! 🐾

Keep your eyes peeled tomorrow for the final St Giles resident in our Halloween countdown 👀🎃

📸 Image created with a little help from technology! Bellatrix hasn't actually been hollowed out and filled with a candle, we promise. We think she'd have a few things to say about that! 😂🩷

Read more about Bellatrix on our website.

📌 Please note: Our posts are scheduled in advance, so Bellatrix may already have interest from potential adopters.

🐱💗 Double the girls, double the love! 🥹

Lilo and Stitch are two lovely ladies who have been growing in confidence and showing us more of their gorgeous personalities! 💕

Stitch has always been the more confident of the two, but it’s been wonderful to see Lilo coming out of her shell, too 🐾🩷

These girls are a real sweet pair, and we love seeing them blossom in their own ways. We can’t wait to see them continue to flourish! 🥰

📸🐾 Behind the scenes of getting Sparrow’s website photo! 😂

Some of our dogs make having their photo taken look easy… and then there’s Sparrow! 🤣💗

The moment he spots the camera, all bets are off. Zoomies? Absolutely. Distractions? Of course. Sitting still and giving us that perfect “adopt me” look? Apparently, not today! 🐕💨

We’re trying our best, Sparrow, but you’re not making this easy! 😂📸

At least he’s keeping us entertained along the way 💕

🐝 HALLOWEEN COUNTDOWN: NELL 🌼

Day twenty-nine of our Halloween countdown and Nell is buzzing into the spotlight! 🐝🐱

This lovely lady is being rehomed on behalf of the RSPCA South East Somerset Branch, and she's looking rather sweet in her little bee makeover 💗

We think she's absolutely bee-autiful, although we're not sure how much actual pollinating she'll be doing. Something tells us she'd be much happier collecting compliments than collecting nectar 😂🌼

Keep your eyes peeled tomorrow for another St Giles resident getting their Halloween makeover 👀🎃

📸 Image created with a little help from technology! Nell hasn't actually been sent out to pollinate the garden, so the flowers are safe… for now. We can't promise the same for any treats left unattended 🍯😂

🌳🐾 Our track walks have become a little more rustic! 😂💗

After Storm Boelo last weekend, our usual walking routes have taken on a slightly different look! 🌪️🌿

Once our routes had been checked and confirmed safe, our wonderful volunteers were back out walking the dogs, navigating what can only be described as an obstacle course! 🌳🪵🐕

A few extra branches and muddy paths certainly make things more interesting, but our dogs still need their walks and enrichment, whatever the weather throws at us 💕

A HUGE thank you to our amazing volunteers who turn up in all weathers to help care for our dogs. Your time, dedication and willingness to get stuck in make such a difference to the animals in our care 🥹🩷

🌿🐾 Bridge strolls with Hank! 💗

Hank has been enjoying his walks across the bridge, taking in the sights and having a good old sniff along the way 🥰

Our handsome boy has been getting out and about for plenty of walks, enjoying a change of scenery and making the most of his time outside 💕🐶

Fresh air, new smells and a little adventure… what more could a boy want? 🩷

👨‍🍳 HALLOWEEN COUNTDOWN: BEANS 🫘

Day twenty-eight of our Halloween countdown and Beans has swapped his usual cat duties for a career in the kitchen! 👨‍🍳🐾

This handsome lad is being rehomed on behalf of the RSPCA South East Somerset Branch, and he's looking rather ready to whip up something delicious for us all 🩷

We're not sure what his speciality would be, but with a name like Beans, we're thinking he might be the expert in… well, beans 😂 We just hope he's better at cooking than he is at keeping his paws off the ingredients!

Keep your eyes peeled tomorrow for another St Giles resident getting their Halloween makeover 👀🎃

📸 Image created with a little help from technology! Beans hasn't actually been let loose in the kitchen, and no recipes were harmed in the making of this image… although we can't guarantee the same for any unattended tuna 😂

🐱💗 The stages of entering Annabelle and Bean’s pen… with treats! 😂🐾

When you’re working with nervous cats, patience is everything… and having a few tasty treats definitely helps! 🥹💕

We’re taking things at their pace, building trust and helping these two learn that good things can happen when people come into their space 🩷

Annabelle and Bean are being rehomed on behalf of the RSPCA South East Somerset Branch.
