Youth Adventure Trust

Youth Adventure Trust Youth development charity supporting vulnerable 11-16yr olds in Wiltshire, Swindon and Somerset through outdoor education - get in touch and get involved!

The Youth Adventure Trust has been using outdoor adventure to inspire young lives for 30 years. In that time we have achieved some great things, but why do we do it? We believe that all vulnerable young people should have access to personal development opportunities so that they can fulfil their potential in the future. As part of that, we understand that learning in an outdoor environment is a ke

y part of a young person’s development. Furthermore, we have seen how a long-term, early intervention, starting at age 11, successfully equips young people with the hope, confidence, skills and resilience that will last a lifetime. In the past 30 years we have inspired almost 2,000 vulnerable young lives. In that time, we have facilitated over 428,000 hours of activity participation including outdoor activities, music, arts, woodland and animation workshops - the equivalent of 39 hours per day every day for 30 years.

Mud, miles and monumental resilience. 🌧️⛰️

One week ago today, 39 determined challengers from battled through 20 miles of tough elevation and pouring rain in the Peak District.

Together, they raised over £20,000! This incredible amount will directly change lives and help us support vulnerable young people.

Thank you Mattioli Woods- you smashed it. See you next year (hopefully with a bit more sunshine)! 🥾

Huge shoutout to the amazing Delia (and her trusty co-pilot, TTT the teddy! 🧸) who are continuing their epic 200 Miles in May & June for YAT!

They’re pushing through their massive 61-day challenge, and we love the raw and honest diary updates Delia is sharing. Between scorching hot days and heavy rain showers, the British weather is definitely throwing some challenges their way! 🌧️☀️

But with a "never give up" philosophy, a goal of hitting 200 miles in the 2 months, and the encouragement of good friends, they are smashing it.

Every single step they take helps support our vital work with young people.

Show Delia and TTT some love, catch up on their latest adventures and please donate if you can to keep their legs moving through the rain or shine! 👇️

We want to take this opportunity to say a MASSIVE thank you to all of our . We are very grateful to have such a dedicated and committed community that fulfils a wide range of roles - each one just as important as the next.

Without them we could not run all of our programmes and support the amount of young people that we do.

THANK YOU

No challenge event runs smoothly without the help and support of our Challenge Event volunteers.

“I volunteer because I enjoy helping others. It gives me a sense of purpose, connection, confidence and personal growth. In a world filled with distractions, getting out and about is also great for the head.”
