The Youth Adventure Trust has been using outdoor adventure to inspire young lives for 30 years. In that time we have achieved some great things, but why do we do it? We believe that all vulnerable young people should have access to personal development opportunities so that they can fulfil their potential in the future. As part of that, we understand that learning in an outdoor environment is a ke

y part of a young person’s development. Furthermore, we have seen how a long-term, early intervention, starting at age 11, successfully equips young people with the hope, confidence, skills and resilience that will last a lifetime. In the past 30 years we have inspired almost 2,000 vulnerable young lives. In that time, we have facilitated over 428,000 hours of activity participation including outdoor activities, music, arts, woodland and animation workshops - the equivalent of 39 hours per day every day for 30 years.

Steep hills, unreal views, and a whole lot of hard work- we cannot wait for the Housebuilders Challenge next Friday!

Teams from across the housebuilding industry are heading to the Jurassic Coast to take on a tough 20-mile hike to change young lives with the Youth Adventure Trust.

As this year's mentoring relationships near a close it has been wonderful to see the variety of activities our young people have chosen to do to celebrate all that they have achieved during their time on the Mentoring Programme.

Over the last 34 years, the Youth Adventure Trust has helped 2,260 vulnerable young people to realise their potential. But none of this happens without financial backing.

That is why we are so grateful to Taylor Wimpey and TriConnex for stepping up to support their communities as sponsors for the 2026 Housebuilder Challenge!

By covering core event costs, their sponsorship ensures the money raised by our participants goes directly into our programmes, helping us transform even more lives.

Simply put: we couldn't run these events or give local youth the chance to build confidence without our sponsors.

Yesterday, we held our first ever Youth Advisory Council meeting. These young people from different stages of our programmes are volunteering their time to sit on our Council; to work as a team, contribute their ideas and opinions and importantly be ambassadors for Youth Adventure Trust. We are so pleased to these committed young people on board and to have made such a great start to this exciting project!

Join us for Summit Under Stars on Friday 18th September 2026 and experience Pen y Fan as day turns to night. Catch the sunset from the summit, refuel with refreshments at the top, and hike back under the stars. ⛰️🌅

Entry is only £50, with proceeds supporting the Youth Adventure Trust’s work with vulnerable young people. (Fundraising options also available).
