Huge congratulations to the Patron of our Outreach Work Julia Donaldson on becoming a Dame!

She has had an extraordinary impact on children’s love of reading for so many years and so many children - many now adults - love and have loved her charming, funny, beautiful stories. We are so proud that she is a champion of our work to encourage children to a life-long love of reading, and our work in prisons to maintain vital family connections.

What a treat to have the wonderful Maggie O'Farrell with us yesterday and what a privilege it is that she is our Festival Patron!

A packed Rother Street Arts House heard her talk to Fiona Lindsay about her latest book Land set in Ireland, why you should write what you don’t know and how emotional it was to write the scene of ’s death.

She is a remarkable writer and it was an utter pleasure to listen to her share her craft.

A special thank you to Rupert Barnes for capturing the spirit of the festival across all four days 📸

You may have seen that we offer Dungeons and Dragons and Warhammer workshops for adults and children at our festival. And here’s one of our Dungeon Masters Sophie to tells us why 🔨

Tabletop role play gaming is a fantastic way of participating in collaborative and immersive storytelling. Let your imagination run wild and take full control of the storyline in the game. Whether our attendees were playing for the first time, or had already played previously, they loved the workshops! ✨
