Stratford-upon-Avon Foodbank Launches Christmas Appeal to Bring Hope This Festive Season

Stratford-upon-Avon Foodbank has launched its first Christmas appeal, calling on the community to come together and support families facing hardship this winter.

With demand for emergency food parcels continuing to rise, the foodbank is asking local people, businesses, and organisations to help ensure no one in Stratford-upon-Avon goes hungry at Christmas.

Named ‘A Parcel of Hope’, the appeal aims to raise £4000 for the foodbank. It tells the true story of ‘Joanna’ who flees domestic abuse with her daughter and finds herself in Stratford-upon-Avon. With the support of the foodbank she is able to find housing, manage her finances and start her life afresh.

Asher Deakin, Foodbank Manager said: "Christmas should be a time of joy and hope, but for families like Joanna’s it can be overshadowed by fear and uncertainty. When Joanna arrived in Stratford-upon-Avon with nothing, the foodbank was there to provide food and practical support. Thanks to the generosity of our community, she found safety and dignity. This Christmas, your kindness can bring the same hope to others.”
