On Sat 6th June, our Founder, Sue Roberts, took on her first ever Super-Sprint Triathlon at Blenheim Palace, with a team of 16 people from Aston Martin.

With varying degrees of ability, from hardened iron-man and marathon fanatics, long distance cyclists and swimmers, to a group of newbies like Sue, the atmosphere was great, with everyone supporting each other and managing to smile through the outbursts of rain and wind!

We are very grateful to Aston Martin for their support as their current charitable partner for the Gaydon HQ. They have raised over £5,000 so far and the JustGiving page is still open for donations.

All monies raised will go towards supporting more young people’s mental health and wellbeing via our 1:1 mentoring service in schools.

Many thanks to everyone who has donated so far. Your support is hugely appreciated.

Today we’re taking a moment to recognise just how much support we’ve been able to provide to young people since the start of this school year — and the impact it’s already having.

Since September, we’ve delivered:

1,732 mentoring hours

1,604 support sessions

That’s 1,732 hours of listening, guiding, encouraging and helping young people feel seen and supported during some of their toughest moments.

Every session is a safe space.
Every hour is a step toward confidence, stability and hope.
Every young person we meet reminds us why this work matters.

This milestone isn’t just about numbers — it’s about lives changed and futures strengthened. And we’re proud of the difference we’re making together.

“My experience has been extremely beneficial for me, I have so much more confidence to face my own challenges. I'm so grateful for all the help ive received” Mentee year 12
Confidence doesn’t appear overnight — it builds through small steps, honest conversations and moments where a young person realises they’re capable of more than they thought. This reflection captures that journey beautifully.

Sometimes the most supportive thing we can offer a child is simply to listen.
Not to fix, not to rush — just to be present.

When children feel heard, they feel safer, more understood, and more able to share what’s really going on for them. Listening builds trust, confidence and connection, one conversation at a time.

Let’s make space for their voices.

At YMM we welcome the inclusion of grief and bereavement within the updated RSHE curriculum guidance for schools in England.

Too many young people experience loss without the language, understanding or support they need. Open conversations about grief can help young people feel less alone and more able to ask for help when they need it.

This is an important step towards making grief education part of everyday conversations in schools and communities.

“It’s better to let it out than keep it in.”
This reflection from one of our mentees says so much about the importance of talking, sharing and being heard.

When young people are given a safe space to open up, they learn that their feelings are valid — and that they don’t have to carry everything alone.
That’s the heart of mentoring: creating moments where worries feel lighter and confidence grows.

Let’s keep encouraging open conversations and reminding young people that speaking up is a strength.

On 17th May, Specsavers Alcester hosted a Spring Sports Day in support of YMM. It was a fab afternoon full of energy, teamwork, and plenty of friendly competition.

Colleagues from 3 different Specsavers stores, Droitwich, Worcester and Alcester, came together to rasie funds for their store charities by taking part in races, challenges, and games. It was a real pleasure meeting everyone and seeing so many people getting involved on the day.

A huge thank you to Lexie and Charlie at Specsavers Alcester for arranging the whole afternoon and making everything run so smoothly.

Our Founder Sue, CEO Nikki, Operations Manager Claire, and Mentor Andrea also came along to support the team and brought along plenty of cake to keep everyone going throughout the afternoon.

Thank you to everyone who took part, cheered, and donated in support of YMM, all money rasied will be put towards our mentoring service to local schools
