I know this is a bit late but this is a perfect way to get some money for our schools....

This National Thank a Teacher Day, Tesco has partnered with The Teaching Awards Trust and The Sun to celebrate teachers and support staff across the UK. As part of the campaign, Tesco is giving 100 schools the chance to receive £1,000 worth of fruit and vegetables through its Free Fruit & Veg for Schools programme.

How it works
Send an e-card
Send a free thank-you e-card to a teacher or member of support staff by 17th June to be in time for Thank a Teacher Day

Your school can apply
Your school can then apply for a Tesco grant by answering a series of short questions – the application should take less than five minutes to complete and it needs to be completed by 1st July

Grants announced
Tesco will award 100 grants to schools across the UK, with the winners receiving their grants in September in time for the new school year

📣 Event Update from Helping Hands

As many of you know, Helping Hands has a BUSY and EXCITING few months ahead, with lots of fantastic activities, events, and opportunities for our community to come together and support one another 🫶

To help us make the most of everything we have planned, we’ve made the decision to move our upcoming Mocktails and Mayhem to 27th January 2027. With so much happening across our programme, we want to ensure every event gets the attention and support it deserves. We’ll be in touch with all of those that have already bought tickets and help to refund or transfer them across 😊

We’re incredibly grateful for the continued enthusiasm and support shown for Helping Hands. Thanks to you, our calendar is fuller than ever, with a range of exciting events, projects, and initiatives coming up that we can’t wait to share with you! 🧡

Feeding children this summer

Looking back to last year when I worked out that the Stratford upon Avon Foodbank's basic children's hampers for the holidays came to around £12, it's got me thinking....

We're trying to raise £1000 at Tesco's on the Birmingham Rd, and for easy maths, £10 would only feed 100 children and I think I'm right in saying there were about 50 children per week.

That means our fundraising efforts would only last two weeks, less if you take into account costs going up and that extra £2 difference.

So....I'm appealing for any school/PTA/local groups or even workplaces....can anyone please help to support these children for the remaining four weeks of the holidays by holding a non-uniform day, or fundraising any other way?

I'll be continuing to fundraise if I can as well....
