I learned this from Mat Van Pelt — one of Vietnam’s best coaches.

Elite coaching isn’t about having the most complicated drills.

It’s about designing the right environment.

The best coaches don’t just tell players what to do.

They create situations where players have to think, adapt, make decisions, communicate, and solve the game in real time.

That was the biggest lesson.

Constraints teach faster than lectures.
Small-sided games create real decisions.
Spacing and timing matter more than random drills.
Standards live in the details.

This is what we’re building at Next Play Basketball.

Not just players who can run drills.

Players who can read the game, solve problems, and perform when it matters.

The game teaches when the environment is right.
