Over the past few months, we’ve continued to support more families facing increasing challenges, from the rising cost of living to the growing number of young people at risk of becoming NEET. In this edition, you’ll find:
✨ The difference our People’s Pantry is making, with over 5,000 meals provided to local families
✨ Celebrating our SHINE Award, recognising our commitment to SEND inclusion
✨ Updates on our Big Cup groups, creating safe and supportive spaces across the community
✨ Opportunities to get involved through partnerships, fundraising and upcoming events

None of this would be possible without the ongoing support from our amazing community thank you for standing with us to help children and families build brighter, more secure futures.

Help shape support for pregnant people and families with babies

Are you currently pregnant, or do you have a child under one in your family? We want to hear from you, and that includes mums, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and anyone who helps care for a baby.

We’re asking families across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire to share their experiences of:
• Pregnancy
• Birth
• Caring for a baby

Every family’s journey is unique. Your views will help gain an understanding of what’s working well and what could be improved, so support for parents, caregivers, and babies locally can be strengthened.

The survey takes just 5–10 minutes, and all responses are confidential. Developed in partnership with -on-Trent City Council and the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board (ICB).

Please complete the survey by 15th June

There’s no better time to support a local charity, simply by doing your normal online shopping.

We’re absolutely thrilled to announce that we have been awarded the SHINE Award, a recognition of our dedication to creating a truly SEND‑inclusive community.

Even more exciting, we are proud to be the first community organisation in the city to receive this award. It’s a huge milestone for our team and a reflection of the inclusive, welcoming environment we work hard to build for children, young people and families.

Developed by Stoke-on-Trent City Council in partnership with SEND parents and community organisations, the SHINE framework supports groups to strengthen their inclusive practice. As part of the award, organisations receive:
- Inclusion & Guidance support
- SEND training
- Accredited certification

While today we’re celebrating this achievement, we’d also love to see more local groups exploring how they can become even more SEND inclusive. Together, we can build a city where every child and every family feels welcomed, valued and supported.
