Wildfire alert for Eastern Scotland

A very high wildfire risk is in place from tomorrow, 29 May to Monday, 1 June.

Today, a very high risk of wildfire warning is also in place for South West Scotland.

Wildfires can cause serious harm to homes, natural landscapes, and wildlife. Taking simple steps can help reduce the risk and prevent severe damage.

Please heed the fire risks across Scotland this weekend and help look after our beautiful landscape 🙏

Very high wildfire risk - please share ⚠️

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service have issued wildfire warnings impacting areas within the National Park from Friday 29 May until Monday 1 June.

As we have seen from recent incidents, remember:
🔥 Fires and barbecues are not allowed under the new fire byelaw
🗑️ Always ensure ci******es are fully extinguished and take your litter (including glass) away with you
🚒 If you see a wildfire, dial the emergency services on 999 and provide them with the location

Protect our National Park. No flame, no spark.

* The Scottish Seabird Centre in North Berwick, just 35 minutes from Edinburgh, is the perfect destination for learning more about Scotland's coastal wildlife, and if you're visiting in summer, hop onto a seasonal boat trip.

* Book a half- or full-day wildlife tour with Aquila Wildlife & Nature - based near Loch Earn in Perthshire, less than 1.5 hours drive from Glasgow, you might spot red squirrel, red kite and lots more!
