This morning we welcomed Rossvale FC Girls 2012/13 in the 1/4 Final of the League Cup with a place in the semis up for grabs. We knew this would be a tough test for the girls playing against a team from the league above and also in their 2nd year at 11s football but one we were very much looking forward too.

Rossvale started brightly and were rewarded with an early breakthrough, settling quickly into their rhythm and forcing us onto the back foot. Rossvale's movement and attacking pressure continued to create openings but our girls kept a good shape to limit any clear cut chances. HT 0-1

Our girls came out in the 2nd half battling to stay in the contest and showed commitment throughout
attempting to respond and enjoyed spells of possession, but Rossvale remained organised defensively and dangerous in attack and would score 3 goals late on. FT 0-4

Rossvale deserved winners but our girls can take a lot of positives for moving forward into the season.

We would like to wish Rossvale all the best in the semi final and for the remainder of the season, a great group of girls and coaches.🀝

The girls had a busy weekend of football....on Friday night we played Boness. Girls put in a great performance and after conceding an early goal managed to turn the game round with goals from Esme x2 & Sophia.⚽πŸ₯…

This morning we travelled to Airdrie to take on Gartcairn Girls in our 1st league fixture of the season.

The girls took Friday's positive performance into today's game and put in a great 1st half performance which would see us go in at HT 3 goals up. Goals from Eva, Miya Hay and a πŸš€ from Lily Monaghan from a free kick ⚽πŸ₯….

Gartcairn came out a completely different team in the 2nd half and started to apply pressure and would deservedly pull a goal back.

FT 1-3

What made today even more special was seeing Liz again all the way from America πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έβ€οΈ
Liz watched the girls play last year too, so she’s actually seen the progression in them β€” not just in their football, but as a team as well. The confidence, teamwork and friendships have all come on so much πŸ₯Ή

To top the day off, she kindly gifted all the girls a Stanley Cup too. Such a thoughtful thing to do.

The girls officially have an international supporter now ⚽️🌍

The girls travelled to dunblane on a sunny sunday morning to face Dunblane girls in the last 16 of the league Cup.

The game was only a minute old when Eva ran onto a through ball from Ruby using her strength to hold her defender off and finishing superbly into the roof of the net. Half way through the half we added a 2nd. Kara hit a strike from the edge of the area that was destined for the top corner before a dunblane defender on the goal-line used her hand to stop it going in. Penalty awarded. Eva kept her cool and slotted the spot kick away for her 2nd goal of the game. We hoped to kick on and add further goals however dunblanes goal keeper made a couple of great saves to deny Eva, Lily and Kara. Dunblane got a goal back before half time when a shot from distance bounced over Emily's head and high into the net. HT 2-1

The 2nd half started pretty evenly with both sides creating some half chances. To dunblanes credit they put us under pressure for the last 20 minutes in their search for an equaliser which they manged to get with 2 minutes remaining.
FT 2-2 and onto Penalty kicks to decide the winner.

Our goal keeper Emily was incredible in the shootout saving 2 of the spot kicks. Emily's 2 saves combined with Eva,Miya and Kara scoring there kicks meant we went through to the next round 3-2 on penalties. Cue the scenes.

Fantastic effort from all the girls against an older 2nd year under 14 team.

Well done Emily on Potm really well deserved not only for the 2 saves in the shootout but her constant instructions and encouragement for her teammates aswell as some key saves during the game.

The 1st of our games this weekend seen us travel to larbert high on friday night to face Stenhousemuir FC Community Foundation

We knew from our previous meeting that this would be a tough game against older opposition. After a fairly even 1st half stenhousemuir stepped it up in the 2nd half scoring 3 goals and taking a deserved victory

Sunday seen us host Rossvale FC Girls 2012/13 at bannockburn high school.

Rossvale started the best and deservedly took the lead with a good strike from the edge of the box. This sparked bannockburn into life and the girls were quickly back on level terms through Eva. Eva would add a 2nd later in the half to take us into the break 2-1 ahead.

The 2nd half started with bannockburn flying out of the traps with Orla getting her 1st goal at 11 asides before Eva capped off a potm performance with her hattrick. We added to our tally with goals from lily and esme before the final whistle capping off a fine display.

Another week of fine tuning our skills on the training pitch before we open our league campaign at home to gartcairn on Sunday.

On Sunday we welcomed Blantyre Celtic CFC to Bannockburn for a friendly.

Before the game Derek Robertson of Robertson Training officially handed over the girls rucksacks. The girls are already putting them to good use at training and match days. Thanks once again for your support Derek.🀝

The match started at a high tempo, with Bannockburn pressing aggressively and moving the ball quickly through midfield. Their early intent paid off with a well-worked opening goal, which set the tone for the rest of the 1st half. HT 4-1

Credit to Blantyre who even tho behind refused to let their heads drop, showing real character and determination. Instead of losing confidence, they kept pushing forward, working hard for every ball and supporting each other across the pitch. FT 5-2

Thanks to Blantyre for the game and all the best for the season ahead.🀝

Well done to our goal scorers especially Miya Hay who topped off an all round top performance with a Hat-trick.
